Remember the Credibility Gap? It was a phenomenon that rose to public awareness in the late 1960s (and even inspired a funny comedy group) when reporting showed a great difference between what government claimed and reality.
It lives.

I can’t personally stand most Democrats, but Gerry Brown has common sense going for him.

But, seriously; Brown can't be counted on to carry the Dem party line, and I see him as a whipping boy.
