Unfortunately due to the ban on posting from blogs on the main pages this will only be seen by those who look at FP blog posts. I strongly reccomend looking at the original video. Chris hayes is a remarkable ponce even for lamestream land and a complete 100% military ignoramus.

I feel comfortable, ah, uncomfortable, about the word because it seems to me that it is so rhetorically proximate to justifications for more war

Watch the video and notice the upward inflection when he says "proximate". He realizes how stupid he sounds as he's saying it. It's as if he is begging for forgiveness as he says the words.

This effeminate little POS seriously must lose his job for making a remark like this on Memorial Day, of all days.

Another gutless pussy badmouthing those who made it possible for 'him' to have the freedom to be a public gutless pussy with relative impunity.

When they sign on the dotted line and choose combat arms they have already reached the threshold. When they are KIA or WIA they cross the threshold. Jmo.

“But maybe I’m wrong”

Yes you are you prissy dweeb.

This country has been so blessed and so spoiled to peace (except 9/11 and Pearl Harbor), people have forgotten the cost.

While the rules for logic and rhetoric differ, it still would be interesting to hear Mr. Hayes attempt to defend this point of view. While I salute the bravery of any soldier who jumps on a grenade to save his brothers in arms, it doesn't make me want to do so and it certainly doesn't make me want to see other young men do so. The only rhetorical proximity there is the useless fluff stuffed into Mr. Hayes's head by academic fools.

Let’s wrap him in some body armor and put an M4 in hands, then chuck him into the middle of a fire fight. I bet his comfort zone experiences some drastic modification.

Hayes fails to understand how warfare has changed. Where once upon time a “hero” might be someone who braved enemy fire to save buddies or other deed, today in an irregular war fought with IEDs every trooper is indeed a hero when she/he puts them self in harms way by going on patrol.

I’m steeped in WWI and WWII history and veteran of Vietnam and appreciate how the wars in Iraq/Afghanistan in which my son and many friends fought are so very different.

IMO, troops who were in Afghanistan and died or survived are each a HERO in every sense of the word.

In this turd’s “mind”, no doubt the real heros are the bomos and trannies. MSNBC needs to be flushed.

CHRIS HAYES: ...why do I feel so [un]comfortable about the word "hero"?

Because you're a coward and a traitor, Chris.

That's why you work for the enemy - so you don't have to stand up to them.

That's also why you said "comfortable" instead of "uncomfortable," when you meant the latter, so that you would have technical deniability covered by the impression of misspeaking.

And that's why you hesitated while speaking, in order to give the impression of thoughtful, reasoned caution, when you were actually reading from a pre-determined script.

Your soul is dead, Chris. You are a traitor to life itself, and freedom, and goodness, and peace, and love. And hell awaits you with slavering fangs.

I will feel uncomfortable tomorrow when I visit a couple of
my relatives and friends. These include a posthumous Navy and Marine Corps Medal. I will feel uncomfortable because I,
who never served, will be on hallowed ground.
