Kitchen Nightmares (or, Why I think Obama is Doomed)
Vanity | 05/21/2012 | RightFighter

Posted on 05/21/2012 7:11:32 PM PDT by RightFighter

I was watching an episode of Kitchen Nightmares last night, and I had an epiphany about this presidential election that led me to believe that Barack Hussein Obama is destined to be a one-termer. I just wanted to share my observation with you.

This episode was about a restaurant called Park's Edge, in Atlanta's Inman Park neighborhood. The two owners were good friends, Richard and Jorge, I believe, who found themselves with some money to burn, so they decided to open a restaurant together. Neither had any experience in the restaurant industry, although Jorge had gone to culinary school. Both had a blind eye to the restaurant's real problem, which was that the food just wasn't very good, but there was another problem which was apparently enough of an issue that both owners and most of the staff pointed to it as the defining event that would be their downfall if they ultimately failed.

It seems that, soon after the restaurant opened, it wasn't doing all that great. There had been some negative reviews, and so Richard, who is black (and flamboyantly gay, I think), was interviewed by the local news about the restaurant's lack of success. Richard attributed it to a perceived notion on his part that this neighborhood doesn't want a black-owned restaurant. All agreed that this had led to a mass exodus of patrons from the restaurant in the years since.

What struck me as so relevant about this was that I think it's a microcosm of what is about to happen in November. You see, Inman Park is a very progressive neighborhood in Atlanta's eastern perimeter, and my gut tells me that the people in that area probably couldn't care less what color someone is. Inman Park is actually listed as a very gay-friendly neighborhood as well, so they probably didn't bat an eye at Richard's flamboyance. It probably really was the FOOD that was a problem at this restaurant right from the start. However, when Richard said what he did, the people in that neighborhood clearly bristled at the concept of being called a bunch of racists, and they took it out on the restaurant in an appropriate way - by refusing to eat there.

How does that translate to politics? I think that this country is, for the most part, like those residents of Inman Park. We're pretty tolerant of most things, and willing to give most anyone a chance. But, when we point out that the food isn't that great, and in response we are told that it's because of a lack of character on our part, we feel that we are being unfairly maligned, and we will fight back in subtle ways that make our point very clear. That's what I think is about to happen to Obama this fall. He and his little chihuahua Eric Holder have spent over three years telling us that we're a bunch of racists. Obama's surrogates have repeated this refrain at every opportunity - anyone who disagrees with the king must be a racist! I think that there are many, many people who quietly smile, take it, and mentally promise never to vote for him again. That determination may not even come across in opinion polls. Most people probably have a desire to appear pretty even-keel, so they may not tell a pollster how they really feel, but come November, they will unleash the most powerful and effective weapon they have - a vote to send Obama packing.

Obama is done....

I just went to a Huge Mexican Fiesta of My Neighbor’s..
all the men stood around drinking beers and saying How tough it was to find work...every one was saying Obama was
blame for the tough economy.
I was the Only White Guy there...and inside I was jumping for JOY!
He is going down as the President who got ZERO electoral Votes.

If Romney promises to repeal Obamacare and can sound like he means it, if he can publicize the real unemployment rate and get people to think he knows how to get people back to work, if he promises to keep the Bush tax cuts, he should win easily.

He may not be any more trustworthy than Bush-41 was about "no new taxes" but he knows what happened to Bush in 1992 as a result.

We are better off having we don't trust on some issues but can put pressure on, than someone who is hell-bent on destroying the country. If Obama wins, we are stuck with Obamacare, whatever the Supreme Court decides...he has no respect for the rule of law.

Jews are quietly moving away from Obama faster than the Hebrews fled Egypt and the Pharoah at Passover time.

At first it will be a slight rustle. Then a louder sound of movement. Then a roaring sound of humanity on the move.

Get out of the way.

The movie of this movement will star Eric Idle and Robby Coltrane in “Jews on the Run”.

I’m posting the signs to political freedom for my religious brethren. Just hope enough of them can read plain English - “GET THE F*CK OUT OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY” AND “THIS WAY TO FREEDOM - VOTE REPUBLICAN”

But, sadly, it will do no good, because they aren’t really Jews, they are Bolsheviks with Jewish last names.

Americans, in all their colors, have an awarness of black racism’s aggressive blame, hate and violence on some level.

We are fortunate that Obama is going radical left for a comglormate of diversity radical haters, racists and sex freaks to get elected. That he decided to highlight po wittle thug Saint Skittles with the purpose of banning self defense from black thugs, is ideal for normal people. Black thugs have victimized and horrified everyone to some degree.

Romney is a moderate which you may dislike more than liberal.

But that is what you get when the Right has its best candidate refuse to run and can’t unify around one candidate.

Not sure I agree with your reasoning. It does look like obama is getting ready for a loss. But why do you think the restaurant failed? was it because of bad food or because the black gay guy made a remark? I don’t think the customers care about the remark. They care about the food.

I think this election is going to be about the economy and every thing obama did to make it worse. I don’t think anyone cares about race or even about obama and his crew being racists themselves.

Its just that the food isn’t that good.

From your keyboard to God’s ears!

I think you’ve really hit on something. The anger Obama has created may be quiet in a big part of polite society, but it is simmering. The continued high unemployment, low job creation, high energy and food prices, plus Obama’s own arrogance at trying to FORCE America to accept his liberal/socialist agenda will doom him.

FRiends, we’re past Obama’s fail-safe point now. It’s too late for the economy to turn around, it’s too late for millions of jobs to be created, it’s too late for our Dear Leader to change the perception that he’s an out-of-touch amateur. Obama’s only hope is smoke and mirrors. He (and a complicit MSM) will do anything to draw attention away from his bungling of the economy. STAY FOCUSED. Don’t fall for the tricks.

I think I shared neuron-for-neuron precisely your (I’ll call it) pessimistic outlook until maybe a month ago. Now, I think 0bama loses, and maybe in a landslide.

Now neither of us can predict the future, but in terms of what you mentioned about “happenstance” events...such an event could sink Romney as easily as it could sink 0bama, maybe even easier. Could also benefit either. So I have to discard that as a consideration factor. Romney, of course, could blow a fart and if it escaped his sacred garmnet, the entire media would be on his case. 0bama could drive the presidential limo over a group of visiting children and the press would cover for him.

The large swathes of stupid people, I believe more and more of them (though certainly not a majority) are waking up to the notion that there is utterly flaming nothing for them if things continue as they are. This, I think, is a very ripe area for party conversion. If it’s done right. And I have some hope that it may occur that way, because Romney appears to be running a skilled campaign...in certain dimensions. Not all the dimensions *I* would like. But a good RINO campaign. Time will tell: I think things will definitely get unbelievably strange closer to the elections. In the meantime, I believe Romney is warming up this segment, the convertible stupids. Frankly, I think that’s why his efforts seem so lackluster to conservatives at this juncture. I think he is very slowly educating people who see no future as to how they could, and there could be a future, if the economy was revving again. They have all lived through those types of times. They are going to have get used to the idea that some people, in a good economy, are going to have more money than they do. And those people, you damn well better HOPE they have more money than you do, because if they don’t you don’t have a job. Ergo, hating them is not intelligent. One is better of sucking up to them, to be blunt. We see these things as self-evident, but many can not, or do not. And I think Romney is trying build an educational type of base with which to convince them that they are better off with a functioning economy. First he has to cure them of their childish envy. We see the admin bringing this Bain Capital thing up again, that’s why I am talking about it.

I think there is a reverse-Democrat effect going on, in that the Dems, who are masters of stitching together these incredibly disparate and motley groups and sub-groups of people, are going to see (they’re not seeing it now; I’m hoping it will be in their post-mortem) little fractions and little fractions of these subgroups erode away. It will not convert large numbers, there will always be a hardcore of unshakable 0bama fans. But I doubt that they will turn out in the enthusastic numbers was saw in ‘08.

Which leaves the Republican “show up at the polls” rate as a very, very serious element. That’s obviously been discussed on FR ad nauseum, so I won’t delve.

I guarantee that when I showed up for work in a kitchen, my non-slip shoes were shined, my jacket was starched and ironed, and my hair was either 1/4 inch buzz cut or pulled back in a ponytail and I was wearing a hat.

What I see in the picture is unprofessional. That's why they aren't doing well.

Wanna be a pro? Start by looking like a pro. There might be a reason behind it.

And it's more than appearance. The chef's jacket is double breasted to protect from slosh burns. The short or controlled hair is to protect the customers. The shined shoes are actually easier to keep clean and germ free if you wax them.

It's not about looking cool. It's about practical and safety.

Hell, none of them has a ball-cap on and a ball cap is the last-resort hot-pad.

This is why I believe the Democrats will dump Obama—somehow and replace him with another. OR The unthinkable—Obama cancels the elections. And rules by decree. Some emergency could be used to do it. If anyone might do it—its Obama. What do we do then? Obama will kill the internet first off, issue decrees to ban “Hate Speech” arrest Rush and others...
What will you do? Would that get you off the couch? Would you join the rebels? Should states succeed from the Union? Form the CSA? Constitutional States of America? Would your state?
No, most of us would be shuffled off to the camps with just a whimper. STILL—we should be ready IF that day comes.

I agree with that. Many Hispanics are conservative in nature, socially and fiscally. The legal Hispanic immigrant, over time and successive generations will come to realize the Democratic party out and out lied to them as to what conservatives and Republicans stand for, many now just vote dem out of fear created by the democratic party. This “super majority” of minorities the democrats think they are forming will fall apart over time as the Latino population becomes informed and hopefully integrated.

To be fair to Chef Ramsay, he always wears his chef’s attire when he’s in the kitchen. In this pic, he’s just talking to them and not cooking, so no jacket. He may be gruff, but he’s no slob.
