You know what, if it’s that bad I’d just as soon be dead
Honestly, if it is that bad, even prepared people will not last very long. They will be targeted by one group or another. If they have a bunch of people together so they have some numbers, personalities can still pose problems. Ifyou have supplies it will get out. Military may decide to re-stock on your 10-20. Injuries received will not allow you to keep fighting like in the movies where you can still keep moving and using your injured leg or arm very long.
All it takes is a blade or bullet to ruin years of prep. Bugging out has the same problems. You are a target in a vehicle and someone can reach out and touch you from a long way away. Ambushes on bridges, high fields, gullies, etc. If you’re a stranger in the area you’ve got nothing personal to stop them from relieving you of your gear.
That is simply a lame excuse for not taking care of business. Let me tell you why I say that...
Sure, some tough times could be coming for which a person needs to prepare to survive. But nobody knows how long those times are going to last - it may only be for six months or a year. And, once it's come and gone things might start to get better than ever (for those who survive).
So, you want to "be dead" rather than endure a few months of hardship that our forebearers might have considered a cakewalk? You want to "be dead" when other folks you care about might need you later?
I guess there's a million excuses not to do the due diligence necessary to get through tough times - but yours is not in the top 10 list.
Let me give you a better excuse ... how about "I'm not preparing because I don't think the crap will ever hit the fan"...or, "I'm certain the government will take care of me.". Try these on for size, they are much better. :)
I’m with you. Who wants to live like that? Back to the Dark Ages....no, thank you.
If I was you I would serious rethink my tag line as no true cowboy I ever knew was such a wussy.
