Well...here is the issue: We are a family of 5. 3 kids...one of which is small. Our bug out location is about 30 miles away. Any other scenario we are OK....we have a heads up and can move our stuff. An EMP? If we do bug out...we lose the advantage of having stored up all our supplies.
I understand your point, but you can't plan for just one contingency. I consider natural disasters high on the list of problems to prepare for.
An EMP.....I hope that doesn't happen. If so, all our bug out plans are shot. Vehicles won't start if the pulse has fried electrical systems. It'll be animal powered transport, walking, or bicycling.
