BTW, I just bought a kindle book, a novel of the french revolution. It’s called “A Place of Greater Safety” by Hillary Mantel. It’s about Danton, Robspierre and Demoullin (sp?). The author just won the Man Booker prize for another book about Henry VIII.
I hope she’s not a psycho lefty and that it’s good. It got very good reviews.
I just didn’t feel like reading about Henry VIII, he’s responsible for so much misery even to this day.
Of course, so are the protagonists in the other book, but at least that group got what it deserved in the end.
Has any one here read any of her stuff?
Haven't started it yet...I'm looking forward to it.
If I like it, I'll read Mantel's "Wolf Hall" (written from Wolsey's point of view I think) also.
