Watch this, and weep for Britain.
I really believe that similar events around the world are part of a bigger plan, and that it is intended to peak in one great global surge.
I know you told me where you live, what you like and dislike about the UK, but I cant remember a thing, lol.
Thank you btw. You know, as I do, that Britain has problems (probably minor to you being an American), but we are still a decent country to live in and raise a family in.
Live in London but my job takes me all over Europe (if there’s one thing I could change about the UK, it would be Heathrow, lol).
I love my life here, you Brits should be proud of the civil society you have. People are so polite and friendly. My experience of the NHS has been first rate (heresy!!).
Yes, you do have a layer of scum like every other country I’ve been to and the level of indulgence they are treated with by the ‘authorities’ is depressing. I’d prefer to see a much harsher penal environment but I tend to keep my opinions to myself and close friends and family. I am a guest here, after all.
Anyway, when anything get’s me down, I find a long walk through the Yorkshire Dales or the Lakes followed by a good pint is enough to restore my faith.
I think our country needs to bury a pig in every 1/4 acre of buildable land here so that we can prevent any more proliferation of mosques. Deportation of 1st generation immigrant islamic people should also begin immedatiately.
I, for one, appreciate the time you’ve taken to give us your first-hand impressions/facts.
Thanks.
An interesting discussion. Glad to know you were not harmed by the knifewielding junkie, but it is obvious that in UK the home invaders can safely assume that the resident will have no means of deadly force with which to defend him/herself.
And carting off the whole family of an invaded home where the criminal wound up dead is not presumption of innocence in my view.
Most home robberies here happen to unoccupied homes. Too much chance of a home invader winding up dead otherwise.
Just a reminder, the first shots of the American Revolution were fired in 1775 when British troops sought to confiscate all civilian firearms for the Crown.
Can we at least agree that Britain has a considerable image problem when it comes to crime and/or Muslims? By the way, the Muslim who used his car as a weapon against a burglar has my support, but over here lots of Muslim and Hindu shopkeepers have used firearms to defend themselves to good effect.
And if Mr. Choudary is so marginalized, where are his outspoken Muslim critics? Also, when are the British press going to stop their PC-ridden references to Pakistani yobbos as “Asians”?
However, as you are well aware the trend is precipitously toward an increased Muslim presence. Much of that could be solved by simply having more white Christian babies. The problem is even more pronounced and further along the downward spiral in continental Europe. Yes, we have our own undesirable ethnic trends in the US.
Numbers aside, I believe the problem is more one of non-judgmental cultural (and moral) equivalence. Even with a population that is 92% white, if they do not CLEARLY recognize AND defend the clear across-the-board superiority of white Christian western civilization, then that same enormous demographic advantage is for naught.
Glad/delighted to hear it.
1—Actually, I was. Hand cut open with screwdriver he had nicked from my study, but only four stitches and not bad enough that I couldnt grab him.
2—Burglars, yes, here they know 99% of the time the house wont be armed. Again, we can use deadly force if necessary, just not as often as America where one shot is all you need. Killed burglars here tend to be stabbed or clubbed with a knife or baseball bat, tablelamp.
3—It tends to be the owner (male usually if its a family) only that is taken in for questioning if the evidence is showing they used the lethal force. As explained in previous threads, its more a police procedure rather than badly treating a homeowner.
4-Most robberies here are done when people are out.
5—Britain has a problem with extreme Muslims and has been far too slow to react to honour killings or muslim sexual abuse/domestic violence. But headlines aside, the vast majority of UK Muslims are just normal, decent people. Remember the emptiest vessels make the loudest noise....
6-There are plenty of critics, Muslim and non-Muslim, of Choudray. Unfortunately, American media tends to pick up his ravings and tends to ignore any counterattacks from moderate Muslim organisations. So you see a nutcase who seems to say what he wants with no repost.
7-I agree. Although it tends to be the more leftleaning papers/media who do that.
“You are allowed them at home as long as you have a safe cabinet.”
I can keep my loaded AR-15 at home if it’s in a locked gun cabinet ?
Britain legally allows shotguns, rifles. But not assault rifles. They were banned in 1988 after Michael Ryan went nuts with several AR’s in Hungerford in 1987.
Most UK gun owners (my family inc) never owned one and those that did were Rambo wannabes. UK gun owners were more concerned with laws regarding handguns. Even from UK gun owners (maybe wrongly in hindsight) there wasnt a great deal of opposition to the 1988 ban, many thought the Rambo wannabes were giving responsible owners a bad name.
I am not sure what the laws are regarding an American owning guns/importing their own guns into the UK. You’d certainly need a licence and safe stockage of the weapons. Its the importation of own guns I am not sure of.
“But not assault rifles.”
Pity. When you need one you won’t have one.
