Why didn't the special prosecutor go after the DA whose “malfeasance” necessitated her appointment? Seems to me there is an indictment there. That’d be an interesting little trial...

Was it "malfeasance" because the DA didn't have enough evidence to indict Zimmerman......and not hauling Zimmerman off to jail was not an acceptable option to the state government (or you)?
The local DA didn't charge Zimmerman because there was no evidence to support charging him. That's not an option for Corey. The evidence doesn't matter when the mob is calling for blood and threatening the well being of anyone who doesn't support them. She had to charge him because the politics require her to do so. We have moved from a system run by the rule of law to a system of mob rule.

Why didn't the special prosecutor go after the DA whose “malfeasance” necessitated her appointment? Because she's not a Special Prosecutor.
On 23 March Norm Wolfinger, States Attorney for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida asked to be recused in the Trayvon Martin shooting case. To replace him, the Governor nominated the States Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court, Angela Corey. For this case she is just the prosecutor.
