Thanks for your concern, Nan. There's no doubt that folks like me might wind up as collateral damage in a hot cultural war. Without recognizable uniforms, that's what happens when the shooting starts.

Even though I'm melanin enriched, I don't exactly fit the physical profile that most people associate with black urban terrorists. I drive a pickup truck with Tea Party stickers and an American flag on the rear window, and I wear a cowboy hat.

I also tend towards jeans, t-shirts and boots much of the time, so perhaps I stand out just enough that folks would pause before squeezing off a round at me :-)
