WE ARE A NATION OF GREATNESS
Rush Limbaugh ^ | 03/07/12 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 03/29/2012 7:03:44 AM PDT by sunny48

Well, the fact of the matter is, we are a nation of greatness because we are good. We are an inherently good people and inherently good nation, and we do wonders for people around the world. We have liberated people from bondage and tyranny and slavery. We have rebuilt whole continents after destructive wars. We have provided disaster relief for people who've been wiped out. There's no greater people on this planet than the American citizens. None greater! And I really resent this implication here that we are selfish, greedy, un-sharing exploiters.

How about this, folks. Two percent of the world's population, and we won World War I; we won World War II. We have invented most of the medicines in the world. We feed a huge portion of the world. Our president has no appreciation for the people that he is supposed to govern or represent. He has contempt for this country.

We are 2% of the world's population, and look at the good that we have done. We are good people, sharing, compassionate, and generous. We won World War I. We fought a civil war to end slavery that cost us 500,000 of our citizens. We won World War II. We rebuilt Europe, and we didn't destroy it. We've invented most of the medicines in the world. We feed a huge portion of the world. And we have a president who has no appreciation for the people of this country that he's supposed to represent. Our achievements, our history, our traditions, sneered at. All corrupt, all unjust, all of our accomplishments illegitimate.

Such purposeful misrepresentations to make this country look greedy and selfish and bad. We deserve better than this. We deserve a president better than this. We deserve leadership better than this. Much better.

I’ve heard the question asked here, how can you keep from being depressed with the situation our country is in, and I think this can help. It sure lifted my spirits after years of hearing nothing but how selfish and evil Americans are. This spewing from people that are supposed to love this country and it’s people. Well here it is From Rush Limbaugh on March 7th. Thank you Rush. Have a nice day.

Germany was a nation of greatness before WWI. Frankly, their big head got them into that and subsequent messes.

And Packard used to make great cars.

Is it just me, or has Rush been exceptionally good in the past month or so?

By the morning of 7 Nov 2012, we`ll know all we need to know about how much greatness America wants to reclaim.

Well, the fact of the matter is, we were a nation of greatness because we were good. We were an inherently good people and inherently good nation, and we did wonders for people around the world. The real question is: How will we retain the greatness that many of us still possess, pass it on to the next generation, and keep America from becoming the free world’s worst nightmare?

I’m going to have to disagree here.

There is a biblical principle that God sends and evil ruler to punish an unrighteous nation.

We are ruled by an Obama because we ceased to be a righteous nation.

If the choice is Romney or Obama, forget it.

Did the US cease to be a great nation in 1976 also?

Agreed. We have done great things. For the most part, we would still be capable of even greater things were we to return to the Constitution and the founding principles of our Nation that it attempted to establish.

This will not happen via the ballot box unless there is a major sea change in the public's desire for more Nanny State.

The demographics of this country have changed greatly since then. Demographics is Destiny.

The election results of 1980 bore strong evidence that the answer is “no,” America at that time had not yet ceased to be a great nation.

Yes, to a great degree.

And in 1973 also.

Very true. And the US is not immune to such a fate. The we-can-do-anything-at-any-time philosophy can get a nation into big trouble.

America was built on Christian principals by Godly men. Though, never perfect, we worked toward the good of our fellow man. Christian Churches, today still, feed the poor, comfort the brokenhearted, take care of the orphans, support missionaries, we build hospitals in other countries, we build water wells for those who have no water, we build schools in other countries and give meals to hungry children, we fight human trafficking and rescue little children from lives of forced prostitution, we assist the downtrodden with food, clothing and work. The good works of America far out weigh the bad. The good works of the church and Americans are never reported on MSM or are movies made by hollywood. We may have allowed elected officials to be in office who are proud, arrogant, pompous, egotistical, amoral jerks but they don't represent real America and never will. Real America is thankful that God has blessed us and our nation. We are thankful for the food on our tables and the health of our children. I am Proud to be an American only because of what our forefathers did and because of the kindness and goodness of REAL America.

I would like to thank the majority of the people that responded to this post and squashed my happy thought for the day.
I now must go and change the oil and have my car inspected, so that I can be sure it’s safe to drive on the roads in my state. My car needs to run properly so that I can maneuver around all these illegal immigrants who don’t speak English or have drivers licenses.
And that includes the little Spanish girl who bumped into my parked car while trying to park hers. Who couldn’t speak English and was probably dropping off her little anchor baby at my school.
