Individual Mandate Day another Clear Test of Fox Media Malpractice
http://www.TableOfWisdom.com ^ | 3/27/2012 | Scott Ryan

Today is an important test of Fox News and “sister companies” like The Wall Street Journal. I have continually pointed out the media malpractice of Fox and their breach of fiduciary responsibility to their viewers and shareholders by engaging in manipulation, distortion and OMMISSION of material facts during this election primary season.

Today is “individual mandate day” because the Supreme Court will be hearing arguments today on that isolated issue. THEREFORE, Fox News will be focusing mainly on this story (between Travon Martin stories).

I turned on Fox & Friends this morning and the individual mandate has been the main topic as expected. So far – there has not been a single mention of Mitt Romney in connection with the individual mandate. There has not been a single mention of the fact that Mitt Romney ADVISED Barack Obama to adopt the individual mandate – as they did.

Given the fact that Fox sat on what should have been a ground breaking story when it was discovered that Romney had been lying for the past year about never having supported it, I suspect that they will continue to cover up this material fact so as to continue to perpetrate their campaign for Mitt Romney that should go down in infamy.

I am unable at this time to do so but perhaps a freeper would like to record the Fox coverage of this individual mandate day and determine whether Mitt Romney – the father of the individual mandate – will be credited for being so at the federal level. If word got to them that the outrage of their deception is growing, they might slip it in there in passing for about 15 seconds out of the entire day, so as to be able to claim they did report it. If such an outright lie had been exposed of any other candidate, we would be hearing it every 15 minutes on Fox.

It’s sad because this is the way we for decades spoke of the “mainstream media”, a group into which Fox seems to be morphing.

I stopped watching Fox News for news a while ago.
I never learn anything from them.

They are not interested in their important role as First Amendment
freedom of the press. And watchdog on government, especially
the federal government.

They are interested in entertaining and American Idol type stuff.
Good for them. It’s their commercial enterprise.

Only Greta is worth watching now.

ABC, NBC, CBS, PBC, MSMBC, CNN BBC, are out right communists. FOX is just left of center.

There isn’t ANY network which is remotely doing any service of “we the people”. None.

Romney’s not the story here, so I respectfully but completely reject your thesis in this post.

Has FOX News 'Jumped The Shark' Over Mitt???

FOX News may have 'jumped the shark' over mittens

Fair and balanced is Juan McCain

I for one have had enough of the ‘wisdom’ of Bill Kristal, Chas. Krauthammer, Ted Baxter, Bret Beahr, Toyko Rove, Ann Colter, Chris Wallace, Sean Wannabe, Dana Parino, Brit Hume, Shep Smith, Judge Jeanene, Alan Comes, Bob Beckle, Juan Williams, Whoraldo, P.T. Trump, et. al. all acting the part of the Romney cheerleading squad

Does anyone else 'feel my pain'?

.

Name ONE true conservative who is regularly on FOX

There is clearly a hunger and a market for honest news and honest conservative news - and it is clearly not FOX

with apologies to Ted Knight ….Find O'Reilly:

I’ve seen plenty of stories and debates on FOX where Romneycare has been the focus, and, it’s been mentioned plenty of times how, Romneycare is the model followed for Obamacare. So, I fail to see the validity of your argument.

I still watch Fox News on occasion - can’t stand much of their programming, but I go to bed with Greta just about every night.

I second that. Why would they talk about Romney during Supreme Court coverage?

Fox News is not meant to be the World Nut Daily of the airwaves. Some people on here have completely lost their minds over these primaries.

“I’ve seen plenty of stories and debates on FOX where Romneycare has been the focus, and, it’s been mentioned plenty of times how, Romneycare is the model followed for Obamacare. So, I fail to see the validity of your argument.”

You cannot see the validity because you missed the point about this being “individual mandate” day. It is obvious that Romney invented the prototype for Obamacare.
That Romney is a flip-flopper is an axiom. A flip-flopper is a disingenuous, Etch a Sketch type of a person. Some construe flip-floppers as good old fashioned liars – because they purport to be something they clearly are not.
The crux is that for the entire campaign season Mitt Romney and his apologists at Fox News have been inculcating us with the specious argument that Romneycare was an exercise in Federalism because the states are the “laboratory of democracy”’. Romney said repeatedly, “I would NEVER support the individual mandate at the Federal level”. However, it was revealed that Romney wrote a series of Op-Eds while OBAMAcare was being devised in which Mitt Romney ADVISED Barack Obama to adopt the individual mandate. We now know he lied.
THAT betrayed a clear-cut, outright series of lies by Romney committed throughout the past year. Mitt Romney has an integrity problem and he can’t remember what positions he took two years ago. That is why he got caught.
The entire point is not whether Fox allows people to occasionally say that “Romneycare was the model for Obamacare”. He circumvents that with his b.s. justifications about Federalism…. State’s rights to promulgate socialist medicine…
The entire point is that Fox News OMMITTED the material fact that should have ended the Romney campaign if they had taken their fiduciary duties with a morsel of respect (instead of pushing a candidate upon viewers). That material fact is extremely relevant on the day that the entire world is watching our Supreme Court decide the constitutionality of – the individual mandate component of Obamacare because if it should be maintained as constitutional by the Supreme Court – it will be the central issue of the 2012 campaign.
Sure, Fox allows guests to talk as Michelle Bachman did this morning about the fact that Mitt Romney campaigns on how he would repeal Obamacare and if elected he would “HAVE TO REPEAL OBAMACARE”. THAT is NOT the relevant factor. What IS the relevant factor is that Mitt Romney has absolutely no credibility to stand before the nation in a debate to attack Barack Obama on his vulnerability – the individual mandate. So he can say all he wants that he would appeal Obamacare if elected but the problem lies in the fact that he will have to AVOID talking about the mandate so as to avoid being laughed off the stage when Obama asks him WHY he advised him in those OP-Ed pieces – to embrace the individual mandate at the FEDERAL LEVEL.
I know it’s hard for some to think these things through. It’s easier to ignore the obvious and capitulate to the talking points “Romney was a businessman and he saved the Olympics” – but other than a Santorum victory that is a worthwhile long shot, the best thing we can have is a brokered convention. If not Santorum, we need to find an acceptable candidate and that isn’t Mitt Romney. Nominating a Wall Street CEO at a time of unprecedented enmity for Wall Street alone is preposterous – but one who inoculates our enemy (Barack Obama) from the greatest violations of our citizenry since George III is an inexcusable catastrophe that would NEVER had been possible without the complicity of the Murdoch media conglomerate including Fox News which cleverly twisted, shaped and omitted facts from their reports that would have rightfully ended the Romney campaign.

If you and the other guy who said it is “nuts” -still- do not understand WHY disgussing Romney’s prodigious weakness on the CENTRAL ISSUE upon which this entire Obamacare case rests - on the DAY in which that component is being litigated in the Supreme Court, than I can’t help your lack of perspicacity. But if I were so obtuse I would at least refrain from writing dogmatic posts exposing my ignorance.

While I agree with you about Romney and about Romneycare, I still don’t see your point about FOX carrying the water for Romney or about trying to hide the facts regarding Romney or Romneycare.

I don’t regard FOX as a conservative TV channel, not be a long shot, but, I also don’t see them hiding the facts, or running from the facts.

You have a perception, and you’re welcome to it, but, I do see plenty of discussion and stories on FOX to invalidate your argument regarding Romney. Perhaps what you seek is for FOX to dedicate a huge portion of their schedule to discussing Romney and condemning Romney. But, I’d rather see a balance of stories and no particular stance, one way or the other, regarding any story or any politician.

Having said that, I do agree that, Romney is the worst possible candidate to take on Obama in the fall. We are heading down the path of 2008, where the unthinkable happened, that being that, Obama was elected over all other experienced and much better qualified candidates. With Romney, we may have another McCain, and another defeat, even with the high negatives that Obama still has.

I have not heard Fox Report on the revelation one... single... time about the revelation that Romney DID support the individual mandate at the federal level from the day that was discovered (2 days before Super Tuesday).

THAT is ommission of material facts. I know the news business. My father was in the business as an anchor and producer. I was raised in i and I worked in it.

The manner in which they report is key, the frequency of cherry picked stories to favor Romney and the ommissions in totality are quite glaring.

Now, I give up trying to persuade you. Best regards.
