If everyone is eligible who is born here, then why the concern (lies) about his father's citizenship? Hmmm?

Chester Arthur's opponents tried to spread rumors he was born in Canada or Ireland. As to why he ordered all his records burned, after leaving office and the day before he died, who knows? Could have been lots of reasons.

Really?! That's news to me. Do you have something from the period to back up your assertion or is everybody just supposed to "take your word for it"?

Except that a researcher who wrote a biography recently found Arthur's father was not a citizen until CA was 14 years old.

Rather than looking the evidence in the face, make something up, eh. :)
