In light of Trayvon Martin‘s death, Seminole State College has expelled George Zimmerman, the man who shot Martin. The college released a statement Thursday addressing the “high-profile controversy” — citing student safety as the sole reason.
The statement said:
“Due to the highly charged and high-profile controversy involving this student, Seminole State has taken the unusual but necessary step this week to withdraw Mr. Zimmerman from enrollment. [...] This decision is based solely on our responsibility to provide for the safety of our students on campus as well as for Mr. Zimmerman.”
The Orlando Sentinel reports Zimmerman was working toward an Associate in Arts degree:
Zimmerman, 28, first enrolled at the college in 2003 and was working toward a vocational certificate to become an insurance agent. He re-enrolled in 2009 and was working toward an Associate in Arts degree in a general studies program, according to the college.

Sounds to me like the college doesn't think the Mob Rule trying to lynch Mr. Zimmerman will stay off campus. And to think, just about 40 years ago, the federal marshals were there to keep lynch mobs OFF the campus so students COULD go to school.

Self defense? Yeah the poor guy really had to shoot a kid in the chest I’m sure. He brought this on himself and this really shouldn’t be a liberal/conservative or gun rights issue.

If he was black and shot a hispanic guy, the race baiters would be burning down the school and the school would post an apology and retraction within the hour.
The police report indicated Zimmerman had a injuries to his head and was bleeding. It also said his short was wet “as if he was laying down in the grass”. Sounds like there was a physical altercation.
NOt jus the local media. My news station (ABC) is reporting that Zimmerman just shot the unarmed kid as he was walking down the street.
What a country!! Last year a couple of black punks drop a shopping cart from two stories onto a white woman walking below. She suffers extensive brain injuries. The two perps go to court.......and you guessed it.......walk out the door.

1. The witness reports that George Zimmerman was on the ground and Trayvon is on top of him punching him.
2. The witness says that George Zimmerman was screaming and yelling for help.
3. Police arrive and find Zimmerman bleeding on his face and the back of his head. He also has had grass stains on his back. All this confirms the story told by Zimmerman and the witness.
4. Police play the 911 tape for Trayvon Martin’s father, who tells police that the voice screaming is not the voice of his son.
Trayvon Martin was a towering 6’2” football player.

Maybe you have some info the rest of us don’t have. All the facts have not come out, only the hysterical writings & broadcasts of a” lynch mob” hysterical media.
Sure would like to know why Martin was suspended from the Miami high school just a day or two before.
