Me too. Nikki Hailey, Christine O"Donnell & Anne Coulter in for Romney & now Rick Santorum seemingly falling on his sword; Mitt really seems to have covered his bases here.

A presidential race takes more than a good candidate. A majority of us on The Free Republic would have the right values and positions to be a good president. It takes a lot more than that. It takes money, lots of it and the skill to raise a ton of it. Money and looks aren’t enough. Organization. I takes a great deal of organization. Newt has been in politics for ever but didn’t have enough organization to get on the ballot in Virginia. Santorum has missed a lot of requirements too. He will not be eligible for all the delegates in Illinois simply because he was not organized enough to have someone do the paperwork.
Don’t misunderstand me, the work to become president is daunting, you can’t do it without an organization behind you. Romney learned he wasn’t organized enough when he ran against McCain. Romney has not stopped since that election cycle. He has been campaigning since 2007. He has people working for him in every possible location, we’re talking about thousands of people. It takes committment, dedication, money and organizational skills to do that.
Obama had the organizational skills to beat Hillary, that didn’t make him a good president and the most organized and well funded has nothing to do with who is the candadate most like me. The candidate with the most money, the most people and best organizational skills will however likely be more effective in the office, for good or bad, than someone without those skills.
It is obvious that Romney wants this bad enough to devote the last 5+ years to it. I only wish that Michelle Bachman would have been so dedicated.
