It’s true that in reality, the “win” didn’t change the delegate count all that much. Give or take, all candidates still split the delegates about 2:1 for Santorum. And it’s true that there are clearly enough “winner take all states” that play to the Gingrich game plan that he could still get to the convention with the most candidates, none having 1,144.

But it is also clear to me after analyzing the data, I must intelligently weigh the situation for what is the best prospect to beat Obama and sell conservative policies to the American people to save this Republic.

So, I am announcing that I, PolitiJim – Speaker supporter – am calling on Newton Leroy Gingrich to quit.

this is going to sound so trite, but isn’t that just so Newt... I mean that is him, his universe, his life’s work, his heart and his soul, his history. When I feel myself getting discouraged after a day of hard bad news, I will watch that and get my head straight again. We are delivering a national treasure to the American people. We mustn’t forget that. .

Newt Gingrich is looking to make history...  

Again.

In December 1776, the future of America hung on the fate of a bedraggled army barely a step ahead of annihilation. When the British fleet arrived in New York, an American soldier marveled it was as if “all London was afloat.”

After several devastating defeats, his troops exhausted, Washington decided to cross the Delaware on Christmas and surprise the British in Trenton.  If the raid backfired, the war was likely over, and he would be captured and killed.

Washington’s troops crossed the river that night, in flat-bottomed boats, tossed by ice floes and raging winds.  Once on land, they marched nine miles to Trenton in a driving snowstorm.  Washington considered calling it off, but he'd come too far.

Arriving at Trenton, the spirited troops surprised the British, and the battle ended quickly, 1000 British killed or captured, to two American combat deaths.

Washington followed with another victory at Princeton, and several after that.   In the space of a few weeks, American troops irreversibly changed the dynamic of the war.

In other words, a moment in history when a few ALL-IN men changed the world.

Politijim needs to relax, sit back and watch the show. Its about time we had a ramadamadingling brokered convention just to clear the air.

The only thing standing between Santorum and the Romney Deathstar is Newt Gingrich. If Newt gets out Willard will broadside Rick ASAP.

The GOP elites don’t give a rat’s bazoo about spreading the conservative save the republic message. They care only about protecting their own cushy jobs and lining their pockets with Lobbyist money.

Ask yourself this. If Obama wins re-election how does life change for Boehner and McConnell? Answer: It doesn’t. They still have their cushy jobs and they get to keep whining about the Democrats for 4 more years. I doubt whether they really care if the GOP wins the Whitehouse or not.

I hope Newt stays in it all the way to Tampa.

Holy cow, that was a great article! Thanks, Onyx. I hope Newt’s campaign people see it. Looks like there are quite a few people here, and in the comment section, who just need to READ BEYOND THE TITLE.

And I do agree....a positive campaign is good, but I want to see Newt tell us the whole ugly truth about Romney. He can do it in a way that’s not ugly, nor nasty, but matter-of-fact. And keep telling us about his DREAM FOR AMERICA.

Why with regard to Santorum? I think he would be a slight improvement on Bush 2. I am not trying to be contentious I just don’t see him as a big deal one way or the other. Basically a status quo space filler kind of guy.

I hope people understand that if Sanctimonious gets in - there will BE no status quo - even if he does NOTHING. Or even if he actually WANTED to do the right thing. The Establishment will still be in charge. I hope people get that.

We need someone to hit the ground running from DAY ONE reversing what has been done not only in the last 4 years, but the last 50-60 - or we are DONE FOR!

This is far from just another election year. This is for the life of our country.

I would say look around this country. Read the story posted here. If anyone thinks the majority of citizens in this day and age are going to elect a person with the social views of Santorum they need to think again. While many of us would love for the citizens in this country to be inclined to put someone like that in the highest office of the land it just isn’t going to happen. There is just no way that Santorum will win the general even if it is against Obama.

If Santorum begins to decline in support, which I think he will, Gingrich would be more likely than Romney to pick up his supporters. If Gingrich were to drop out more of his supporters would go to Romney imo. Gingrich staying in is the only way we will keep Romney from getting the nomination.

Victory or Death...that must be the call for Newt supporters. To hell with the establishment, to hell with the media, to hell with the moderates. Newt will continue the fight and rise to overtake the calls for him to get out. It is not going to be easy, but then I doubt Mr. Newt thought that when he got in. This is the man that created and delivered Republicans to take over the House in 94 when everyone thought it was impossible.

Stand and fight, don't loose faith. Mr. Newt will fight for victory for all of us. He is the most powerful and he is the one the dems are fighting. Did you hear Biden’s speech today. Like Santorum, he too is steeling Mr. Newt's comparison and contrast theory. I will not give up on him, my donations to his campaign are on a monthly basis and I will increase those donations next month.

Right now, it is going to come down the steadfastness of individual hearts, doubling down and day to day... People like you, in other words.

I don't know why people can't see the contrast between him and Santorum, the contrast in quality, in experience, in depth of knowledge, as well as intellect and brilliance, and the werewithal to navigate DC from Day One.

Personally, I don't think they can get beyond Newt's past sins, and nothing is ever going to change that. Nothing, except a miracle of grace and mercy taking place in their hearts, and I don't even think they are remotely open to that...

Newt has said his campaign is now a movement campaign, which simply means, he is carrying, once again, the banner of conservatism, this time for a new generation. STRATEGY

I received from the campaign a letter of strategy for the second half of the campaign, I can assure you with organization and mobilization this nomination can be won by Gingrich, but it is up to us his supporters..We all should be setting our goals and planning our rallies, it is important for the country to visually SEE the people out in force supporting Newt..I urge you all to start rallies this weekend if you did not begin last weekend...it does no need be a large group of people at your rally but it does need to be a consstent show..I know even one or two people standing on a corner can start a movement.. WE need to do this..please organize in your town.

SATURDAY MOM AND DAUGHTER RALLY – QUALITY TIME

My daughter and I will be out standing on the most traveled corner in my area today holding Newt signs, hoping that those that pass will feel free to stop and join us, Rome was not built in a day and rallies usually take a few days to become ignited..This will be the first of many more to come, I have invited a few Newt supporters to join me all I can do is hope they will show..from here on out until November thats where I'll be on Saturdays..with the exception of my gril trip to vegas, but hey even us girls going on our trip can bring our signs and rock vegas that weekend at least for a couple of hours! Lol

Rally update: ok I did my small but powerful rally today, me and my daughter stood on the busiest intersection of our valley for 1 and a half hours holding our Newt signs, got lots of honks and thumbs up, maybe next weekend others will join us...I plan to be out there every Saturday come rain or come shine...even if I am the only one standing there..I feel it is that important...silly as it sounds even one person can make a difference..just wish more felt that way!

POSTCARDS

Newt needs to send postcards outlining his stategies and comparing it to Santorum's record. That is what Santorum is doing only with lies. The post card reads" The facts.." and then lists that Newt voted for Healthcare mandates, cap and trade, wallstreet, and others. All lies and taken out of context, of course, but nevertheless, people read it, and go vote. Not as many are on facebook as you would think...PLEASE, could someone get the message to him to do this in every state--postcards postcards...I'll see who I can send the idea to, the director of ourstates......

GET POSTCARDS

Whatever little town you live in, or city or hamlet, you can sit down with your telephone book, online or other, and everyday send 5-10 postcards to people in your town. You can write your own text or get them printed… You may have to incur the costs yourself, but they are manageable. You can also put a little “light” adhesive on them and leave them on a porch rail, banister, apartment lobby – don’t go near the mailboxes themselves, that is a no-no.

Vista Prints is a well-know site to all Tea party and grassroots orgs – and you can take advantage of a lot of their freebies.. .they are of good quality..

I’ve sent the link to my entire list, I did say “Must Read, Title is Misleading”. rollwage and I stand with Newt to the end. Newt is not a quitter, he knows what the country needs and he’s not going to back down or give up, it may be our last stand. We both bought some Newt Gas.

Surely you jest. I’m a Newt guy but Politicians don’t spend their own money; they’re too accustomed to spending other people’s money. Let the money dry up and politicians are gone. As a side bar may I say the following:
