Doesn’t bode well for a turn around in “Consumer Confidence” does it?

Everyone's Imageo Dei is telling them that the sands are about done trickling through this glass...

Different folks are trying to pin the feeling on various different things, everything from a terrorist attack to an asteroid strike.

13% will be the first wave of zombies.

I’d add war hitting closer to home to the list. I’d also move the date to within 5 years.

I'm staring at a personal financial disaster right now, not potential. And we're moving into spring in Texas, so I've got t-storms and that damage (last year cost a lot) to consider.

I've got plenty of stuff in the fan without any fancy disasters.

What, no nuclear war? The Russians and Chinese, as well as the Israelis, Pakistanis, and Indians, are gearing up for just that. The nuclear fallout response is fairly vague.

I’m impressed - 51% believe we’ll have a financial collapse. I didn’t think the American sheeple were even paying attention to current events.

It’s too bad people think that a total financial collapse is likely. It is almost impossible under our system.

A collapse would have to be societal, violent in nature. That’s very unlikely too.

As for financial collapse, no. We can print to infinity to pay our bills, and infinity is not required. The math indicates that about 40-45% of our collective wealth can be stolen over the next 10 years to get us out of the situation. That’s about 3.2-3.4% a year. That’s doable in the boiling frog sense and shouldn’t cause a collapse, especially in this over-medicated welfare state.

How come no “all of the above”:?

Blam gave me an extra day on the stock market and I was able to dump an unproductive stock before the market plunged. Now I should probably try and get the money out of the account before the electrons disapear.

I could buy more glue:)

Survey: 51% of Americans Believe a Financial Collapse Is Imminent

In response to this, in order to alleviate the job and economic situation, the government will continue to raise taxes, fines and fees, keep the borders open, make you pay for their medical care, housing, food stamps, social services and legally welcome in 1,000,000 more people per year from Muslim countries, and play global policeman, going into one country to another while looting the American treasure at home.

We’ve already had many significant earthquakes and many significant hurricanes. That we will have some more is 100% probability. While really bad, those tend to be relatively localized. The undamaged rest of the country can pitch in to help.

We’ve already had a significant terrorist attack. The really bad future one would be multiple dirty bombs that would render a lot of cities uninhabitable.

A financial collapse would hit everyone.

I remember once reading a poll where they asked Republicans and Democrats “what are you most scared of”. If may have been a joke. I don’t remember the exact result but it mostly went..

Most popular Republican answers:
Global thermonuclear war
Financial collapse
Pandemic

Most popular Democrat answers:
The water
Ghosts
Dogs

Well then obviously what we should do, is eliminate more American jobs and send more industry to a massive communist nation which is now becoming a ever-stronger rival nuclear superpower.

Sure. That should help.
