Pisses me off, they off a great service and we just renewed with a three year contract on all our devices.
I wrote them and said we will not renew again, wish I could figure out where to go now.
The whole boycott Limbaugh is just stupid. I mean really these advertisers have no problem with leftest shows that say and firmly believe what they say against conservatives.
This whole issue is not going to end well, we are in for one hell of a ride the next few years, it really is fix it or break it time.

I told Carbonite that I quit as of my expiration date
of June 2.
I am not so much of a paranoid type, but I wonder about all the data they have on me.
They have a copy of everything on my computer.

I have been poopooing all the wise guys that say they have their own backup, but that is worthless in event of a natural disaster or fire.

I am, however, now concerned that a Marxist company has a copy of everything from my computer.

No one would have ever heard of car bon ite if they had not advertised on Rush’s show. I hope they fall off the face of the earth.

"a more civilized public discourse"

Why in the world would anyone, of any stripe, consider civilized discourse desirable when we are confronting an existential threat?

Orenthal, I'd prefer you didn't slice my neck any further and I'd appreciate a chance to explain why. Of course, I'll be glad to listen to your views and consider a compromise.

http://www.radio-info.com/news/station-owner-larry-fuss-says-im-canceling-my-carbonite-subscription

>>(Radio)Station owner Larry Fuss says “I’m canceling my Carbonite subscription”

>>From today’s TRI Newsletter: Delta Radio owner Larry Fuss sees Limbaugh Show advertisers bailing and says he’s telling former Limbaugh advertiser Carbonite that his own action “stems from your cancellation of Carbonite’s sponsorship of the Rush Limbaugh radio program…Rush has millions of fans, many of whom, like myself, are business owners and Carbonite users.” Fuss admits that Limbaugh “may have engaged in a poor choice of words, he was nevertheless right about the entitlement mentality in this country and those who promote it.” He says “By canceling your advertising on his show, you are empowering these very people.” Fuss says “I don’t do business with any of the other companies that have bailed, but I’ll make sure to avoid them in the future.”

What’s really scary about this ‘slut’ thing is the fact that it’s THE 0BAMA REGIME in conjunction with George Soros’ hit-squad organizations THAT IS STRONG-ARMING THESE COMPANIES INTO ABANDONING RUSH. That is the real story here, but let’s focus on the word ‘slut’ instead.

I canceled my Carbonite subscription last Saturday. I also emailed ProFlowers and told them very nicely where they could stick their flowers because I was now a former customer.

Anyone who thinks it's a good idea to trust their data in cyber-space is not thinking things through. Okay, theft and natural disasters are a reality. However, external back ups (think Maxon)that you can grab and run can negate that. In case of theft, just encrypt your important files and again, backup on your external drive.

When I first saw Carbonite advertised on TV, I thought what happens if the company goes defunct (which is looking likely)? I also thought what happens if they are hacked? Sheesh, NASA was hacked recently.

I don't get why someone would want their most important data out there in the new and great web-cloud on some server that hasn't been proven secure. Just my paranoid opinion. I'll keep my personal data on an external drive in my own home that only I have access to.

If you ask me,allowing someone to copy all the files from your computer to a supposidly secure server somewhere is a stupid idea. Paying someone to do it is a really stipid idea.

So, after a concerted effort by Media Matters, the Whitehouse, and the MSM to take out Limbaugh over Fluke, the result has been to damage the quisling sponsors. Sweet.

I wish FR would create a huge highlighted link at the web portal page to inform Freepers of companies that support liberal causes and liberal media. There are a lot more conservatives in this country than idiot liberals... let’s boycott them into oblivion.

Mozy works well. I had to ask them to get my docs back after a crash and the process was smooth and completed in about 7 minutes. I had tried to sign up for Carbonite but found it so difficult I just stopped trying. I had a password issue and they just kept ignoring my Emails. Finally I turned to Mozy - good move.
