One of the many problems with ObamaCare is discovering that a self-bought policy is government run. What is the problem with a government policy? Well...it's government run.
They get you coming and going. There's a pretend choice that is no choice, and even that non-choice is eventually forced out of business so that all is subsumed under the reality of a bureaucrat deciding if you get a heart bypass or a quick sendoff to the great beyond.
Fake choices abound when dealing with politicians.
That's why one simply must wonder about the Gingrich/Santorum splitting of the conservative vote.
Who benefits? Romney.
Who realizes that's what's happening? Both Newt and Rick.
Have they made a deal of some sort to stop it? Nope.
Is that the same as throwing conservatives under the bus?
A Greyhound barreling along a 100 mph.
Yes.
No. Knock it off.. they are all rinos. We just have to pick the least damaging..
RINOs? No.
Great great conservatives? Not that either.
Imperfect folks who are still trying to win? YEP. That’s it.
stalkinghorse for romney = santorum
IMHO, every pubbie is a RINO until they prove themselves to be conservative when they have a chance to govern. Trust no one...to be what THEY say they are.
Don’t be silly, that was Perry who was Romney’s stalking horse. Santorum is Ron Paul’s stalking horse. Gingrich is Cain’s stalking horse. Sarah Palin was Michelle Bachman’s stalking horse.
Which means the vote gets split and they laugh/cry as Romney wins.
So....they're either stupid or craven. Take your pick.
I've gone through this before ~ 7 out of 10 Republican candidates who signed up with the RNC had been a supporter/worker/donor for some party other than the Republicans some time in their life ~ and that included Ron Paul and Mitt Romney.
Romney did something I never heard of before ~ as a Republican office holder he made serious donations to Democrats running for office.
BIZARRE!!!
The only NON RINO Republican candidates were Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum.
All the others were tainted ~ some horribly ~ some less so ~ but just with that little piece of the definition, they were not really authentic born and bred Republican hard cores.
If you want to pin down leftwingtard proclivities, that'd be Johnson, Huntsman, Romney, Paul ~
You conviently edited my post..
Damn it all, CEW.
There’s just no point any more.
They either know they’re shooting each other or they don’t.
In other words, either a 5th column or an idiot column.
Conservatism is a pipe dream.
Well they may know they’re shooting each other, or maybe not. I don’t think they are in a crusade to defeat Mitt at all costs. FR may be, but FR is not the entire universe.
Santorum has taken some cheap shots at Newt and I’m not sure Newt will get over that.
I can’t respond in depth right now. I have to go get more tinfoil.
Yep, the last real conservative died in 1898.
Now you know.
Mitt Romney is the EINO. i would like to see Ron Paul drop out, but I would vote for any of them except Romney.
I’m convinced Newt is sincere.
Circular firing squad; it’s what the GOPers/RINOs are (in)famous for.
They are all RINOs, I don’t think conservatives can even agree on who conservatives are anymore..
Yee hah!
Yes Santorum is a gold plated pro union, big government, nanny state Rhino who now tries to tell us all his rhino votes were just taking one for the team. And now he suckers SoCons into voting for him with his pro-life spiel, but when the rubber met the road he voted for funding for PPH and supported one of the most liberal pro abortion Senators in history when Mr Specter ran against a true conservative.
Newt on the other hand brought conservative Republicans back to power in the House after 40 years of back bench status. Worked to balance the federal budget and reform welfare getting both done even with a democrat president.
If Santorum isn’t being paid by Romney’s people who should call them ask them for a check. Without him Romney would be nowhere today.
TAX DAY 1994 - Politicians play with ire - Gingrich , others stage stunts touting frugality
The Atlanta Journal and The Atlanta Constitution - Saturday, April 16, 1994
Author: ALEXANDER, KATHEY, Kathey Alexander STAFF WRITER: STAFF
As procrastinators put the finishing touches on their tax returns Friday, politicians across the nation carried out carefully crafted stunts aimed at landing the votes of irate taxpayers.
In Roswell, U.S. House Minority Whip Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) touted fiscal conservatism by staging a mock tea party on the banks of the Chattahoochee River . Conservative Republicans tossed empty produce crates into the river in symbolic re-enactment of the incident in Boston 221 years ago when colonists dressed as Indians dumped tea into the harbor in rebellion against the government.
More than 200 similar rallies occurred throughout the country, including Boston, San Francisco and Detroit , as candidates used the tax filing deadline as a forum for one-upsmanship on frugality.
Americans literally work every day for months just to pay for a government that wastes their money, said Gingrich , who is seeking re-election from the 6th district. On the day taxes are due, we should remind you that you have every right as a citizen to protect yourself, your family and your wallet with your vote.
