Okay, everybody, Enemies Foreign And Domestic has gone live for FREE on Amazon Kindle.
Now, the fun begins. If it goes the way I think it will, this thing is going to be huge.
One last bump before I re-read it. I will say that it looks a little different in Kindle format. I never thought I’d like the silly device but 4000 books in yer pocket is tough to argue with.
:)
OK. This is it for the night.
Amazon Best Seller....as of now, you’re at #4...you’ve been holding that number for hours now.
You were #5 for a SHORT bit of time around the 6:30 to 7:30 time frame, then there ya went. To #4 and holding.
I wish you (ALL OF US!, that means America!!) well, come the morning light.
Matt, how is the download count?
Long time no see.
... but EFAD is currently #4 on Amazon

NBC Cold Shoulder for Hot Book [Read: Right of Center Screed Against Hollywood] To: andrew; Lancey Howard
Thanks for the ping LH! It'll be interesting to track how the book is promoted.
Andrew, what kind of store placement are you getting? Was store location in your contract? Are you worried about being "buried" by the purple-haired pierced-face crowd at B&N?
One thing FReepers are good at doing is "guerrilla book placement." That is, find the conervative books on the bottom back shelves, and put them up top in front, as much as possible.

First of all, I cant thank you all enough, But you are what you are and you know it: good, decent people, the very people who are treatred with contempt by Hollywood. (I am from the place; I know.) As for book placement, you've got to check it out! At Barnes and Noble we are front and center: behind the counter... a separate "Hollywood, Interrupted" display, central placement on yet another central table. This is at the store in Manhattan at 67th and Broadway, the heart of the liberal beast. Wiley, our publisher, even gave us an awesome billboard on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood: "What This Town Needs is An Intervention!' Very in your face. Fun. This very mainstream publisher has been a dream, and the bookstores have not pulled back from what I hear. Thanks, again -- off to do Fox and Friends at 7:45 EST. Haven't even slept today! Did 3 hours of radio starting at 1am with Joey Reynolds on WOR AM. If you see me, keep that in mind -- serious sleep deprivation!!!

I heard you on Laura Ingraham today, good work! You didn't sound too tired, you sounded like you were having a lot of fun!
Congrats on your store placement and billboards, was that in your contract?

I had the same problem, when I tried to re-download EFAD to check the formatting of the latest version I just uploaded a few days ago.
To get around this, I set up an Amazon account with a different email address as a basis, then I was "good to go," as a "new customer."
I downloaded the free Kindle for PC app, then the latest version of EFAD, with the beginning of DETR at the end.
The irony of Andrew dying “of natural causes” in his 40s, the day I released Gangster Govt and Sakharov’s Immunity, is not lost on me.
Please, spread this essay far and wide, and save it off of my website alone. My website can disappear in a second. It needs to be saved all around the net.

Now, back to log-rolling, plate-spinning, and HTML monkeywrenching my website for Comm Day 2.
Bracken—Out.
Very smart.
I captured it and posted it to tinypic.
Oh, wait...that's AWESOME!!!

Enemies Foreign And Domestic has gone from #20,000 on Kindle, to #2! Thanks, FReeper FRiends!
