Okay my FRiends, this is it... We have to choose now! Are we going to support Mittens or Rick Santorum.
A vote FOR Newt at this point is a vote for four more years of Obama's MITTens?
Please please please take off your MITTens and put ON your sweater vest!
See we have this process, for deciding our candidate.
Its called the primaries. Im all for Santorum - I really am, but Im also all for letting the candidates slug it out, fair and square.
Let the primaries work. Americans vote. Best candidate win.
No need to be pedantic. What Dan means is that anyone with media (read: we do not k ow where they get their marching orders so their bias is NOT necessarily a legit part of the process) support, who was “inevitable” 3 years before the election, should not just win by media fawning and trickery. If we don’t want Mitt foisted upon us, which we as conservatives DO NOT, we need to put all our effort behind the one guy who can beat him.
And Newt is far out of the game now. If all the brilliant, strong, fighting FReepers would put their effort behind Rick, we have a chance. Otherwise it could be over on Super Tuesday because people insist on Newt and thus don’t engage in the actual fight.
Maybe JimRob will decide to turn his support for Santorum this week, to help us stop this odious Rom-mentum. That might help.
It`s down to this:
1. Women voters don`t like Gingrich and refuse to support him.
2. Indies and mods don`t like Santorum and refuse to support him.
3. Sane voters don`t like Paul and refuse to support him.
4. Conservatives don`t like Romney and refuse to support him.
So.... now what?
Whaaaa? Santorum IS the GOP-e fer cryin' out loud.
He's no different than any other gop senator who sees legislation as an answer to everything.

Agree about Newt's chances, unfortunately.
While I absolutely would rather have RS in the WH than MR in the WH, I am very afraid that he has lost too much of the women's bloc.
P>He should have just shut up and focused on winning rather than shooting from the hip on social issues that frankly mean little to the majority of voters in a country headed for the cliff economically.
It deserves repeating:
Proven leadership? As in leaving office midterm leaving his state high and dry? As in throwing his support behind Dede? As in helping Bawny Fwank while getting millions from fannie and freddie? As in couch sitting with Nancy and believing in global warming? As in cheating on at least 2 wives and chasing an intern just like BJ Clinton?
No thanks I dont want that leadership
I think we all know that if the primaries play out as planned, conservatives will get their chance to cast their ballots for both Mitt AND Rick at the same time in November.
No, my vote for Gingrich is a vote for Gingrich. Period.
I don’t like Romney and I don’t like Santorum. I like Obama even less.
Rick/Newt ticket.
I'm still with Newt! Aside from his having solutions on the issues, he is the only one to admit past mistakes. He's an open book. We are still learning crap about the rest of them.
DELEGATE RACE AS IT STANDS NOW:
Romney- 142, of those 26 are non-binding= 116 solid
Santorum- 59, of those 44 are non-binding= 15 solid
Gingrich- 32, of those 2 are non-binding= 30 solid
Paul- 20, of those 12 are non-binding= 8 solid
POPULAR VOTE TOTALS:
Romney- 1,746,046
Gingrich- 977,272
Santorum- 929,807
Paul- 462,187
Over, huh? Talk to us after Super Tuesday.......

For different reasons, Santorum has no better chance of getting my vote in the primary than Romney. I will only vote for either of those two if their opponent is Obama. Otherwise, I'm sticking with Newt, Paul, or a write-in before I vote Santorum.
I’m thinking Palin could win a brokered convention.
Just saying.
She’s gone quiet the last couple weeks. Remember she was the first one identified by and then against whom, the Mittens’ devious slime machine went after.
If there’s anyone out there most motivated, and most in a position to blindside the Mitt juggernaut with complete effect, it’s Palin.
If she’s going to make some move, if there indeed has been an ‘unconventional’ gameplan as many have suspected.
Now might be the time.
She would be prudent if so, to say something to reframe the message this week.
Something about, say ... GAS PRICES. (hint, hint)
:D
It is the MEDIA who keeps spinning the dialogue to social issues not Rick.
Rick is very comfortable talking about social issues but his campaign is NOT about that. In fact nobody is even talking about abortion and contraception etc etc except the media pundits who think they still have the power to control the people.
Super Tuesday will prove that the media has overplayed their social issues hand and will go ALL IN for MITTENS.
WE THE PEOPLE CAN TELL THE MEDIA TO POUND SAND BY PUTTING ON OUR SWEATER VEST!
Hardy Har Har
It`s down to this:
1. Women voters don`t like Gingrich and refuse to support him.
2. Indies and mods don`t like Santorum and refuse to support him.
3. Sane voters don`t like Paul and refuse to support him.
4. Conservatives don`t like Romney and refuse to support him.
That is about it. Not perfectly down the line, but each candidate has his population of people who will refuse a vote for him. I am going to just forget about Paul because he is like crabgrass. Working for Romney or not, no one can get rid of him.
Romney has the money. That is why some call him inevitable. I am not sure if the media just calls him that because of his money and infrastructure, or if they also have offers they can’t refuse, but he is the fighting powerhouse that some Americans tnk looks like a president, some Amwricans think “well, at least he willbe good for the economy.”
Santorum tells truths we conservatives have longed to hear, will also be good on the eonomy — getting rid of Obamacare, which we don’t believe Romney will have a real mandate to do, will be one of the most important Economic advantages we will have — will be a good steward of the office, but his focus on social issues has given him the twitter moniker of Saintorum and a whole lot worse. He doesn’t seem to realize one has to slowly and carefully get Americans used to new social truths.
Newt is the smartest guy in the room and good at debates. But he is also seen as a fat, greedy, angry satyr. Voters think they understand him because every move he makes is like those slob husband characters on tv: pure selfishness, gratification of Immediate needs only.
I don’t think newt can beat Romney at this point. I am not too sure Santorum can. If he could have taken Michigan, that would have helped a lot.
But Dan is right. Santo is the only one left with any of a chance. It’s a free country, sort of. No one is forced to strategize. Vote for whom you want but do it with open eyes. It’s not november any more. It’s super tuesday. No way for Gingrich to beat Romney unless there were a brokered convention and there won’t be if newt gets the anti-Romney votes in take all states.
YOU THE PERSON can cast your vote for whomever you wish. Some of the rest of us don't share your opinion about Santorum.
I don’t understand the FR hatred of personal discussion posts. They are labeled vanities when what they are is true conservatives discussing the issues. I think instead we should label all MSM posts as “propaganda.”. Why do we still grovel to these publications?
For some of us it IS about liking Santorum the most.
For others it is about ANTI-Romney...
Either way it is a vote for Rick Santorum that will accomplish the task.
A vote for Newt is a vote for Mittens.
Exactly! I wrap myself in the what Newt represents - THE FLAG!!
Something the sweater and mittens crowd don't take into consideration. They are too interested in throwing snowballs - child like behavior and media driven.
