Started today's Michigan calls at 4 and so far seeing encouraging things for Santorum. Tomorrow may be a long night.

Pretty sure Santorum will win election day voters tomorrow in MI, just a question of whether he can make up Romney's absentee lead.

Our final Michigan numbers should be out between 10 and 11 tonight.

Considering Santorum, the tea party candidate dominates 90% of all “Among Tea Party Supporters” internals in state and national polling, you may be INDEED already out of the loop.

I like Dr. Paul on various issues, even though I admit, I have not voted for him. I admire the dedication of his supporters. They do not "flip flop" in support from one candidate to the next, and backtrack again.

Saw Paul supporters out in 29 degree weather in the sister city of Augusta Maine this weekend holding up posters. Average looking, well dressed Americans wearing no tin foil hats that I could see all banding together on a busy city intersection. Caucus well over. The final delayed vote up in Washington county, biggest and poorest of the state's counties- showed a bigger spread than expected between Paul and Romney. But then again the design of the Maine GOP caucus which spread into 2 weeks, makes it a joke anyway--you just dont go in and out of a local polling booth. You can drive many miles to within that county and with the cost of gas..people conserve to afford to drive to work the next day.

More to the point, help me understand: in the aftermath of a caucus and lately even before the caucus taking place; voices out of some of the Paul campaign are quick to clamor: "Romney stole the election"!

At the same time Santorum supporters say "Paul never goes after Romney" in any debates, ads. [I did find one YouTube ad, but was satire Romeny with a machine gun].

If the Paul camp hates Romney so much, how come no ads or strong statements placed against Romney in any of the debates? He has no problem cutting Santorum off at the knees or even the Newster.

Signed
Confused ;)

Great Theater!

No, I’m not out of the loop, I can read. The suddenly Santorum crowd is trying to make silk out of a sow’s ear.

He has lost some weight. That might not be good.

He hasn't lost weight to make any difference; but instead he as gone to well tailored suits--does not look like just off the rack.

The shoulders on Santorum's jacket good example. Has an Armani look. Newt's suit blue blazers are not cut well to fit his "figar". Romney's suit has to be expensive but doesn't look so next to Santorum's. Paul couldn't care less-it's a suit.

A lot of absentee voters, especially in primaries, are 70+. They will favor Romney because they remember George Romney and think highly of George based on competence issues.

Based on what in his voting record exactly... bills that passed the Senate with 90+ votes don’t count.

One more battle in the war between the establishment to elect the next Bob Dole and the unrealistic zealots in the Tea Party to elect the next Christine O’Donnell. Meanwhile the “just right” common sense conservative candidate Newt Gingrich ready to pick up Reagan’s torch sits in the middle hoping everyone comes to their senses before it’s too late and Obama is handed his reelection on a silver platter.

Romney “banked” a gigantic number of absentee votes in Florida also.

The machine gun ad was Santorum’s. I don’t believe Paul has run any anti-Romney ads in this election cycle, maybe not last time either.

Many of the Paul people will flip-flop their vote to Obama even if Paul miraculously won the primary. Their main motivation is to screw with the Republican party they greatly despise. Online, they say if Paul doesn’t win the nomination, they’ll vote for Gary Johnson or Obama, and very rarely will vote for Romney. They despise Santorum most of all, and Newt’s not far behind. They despise religious and social conservatism and our military and things like the Patriot Act. They probably don’t care if Paul helps Romney because he, being the most liberal besides Paul, is the one they hate the least.

Check Santorum's NTU (National Taxpayer's Union) lifetime Senate voting record score. Therein lies your answer.

You know, I may be not the most tenured on this forum, I only go back to 1999, but for years nobody on FR had any kind of problem with Rick Santorum, and Senate floor speech after speech or issue after issue he tackled was praised right here on this forum, with few if any detractors. His name was bandied about as a possible Presidential candidate. That is at least my recollection.

Suddenly, he is a "pariah" in some corners.

Go figure.

It just plain is not rational, if outright surrealistic, if you ask me. But, what the hell.

They hunger and thirst for power as much, yes, they would abandon core moral principles and engage in that kind of behavior. There is very little difference in terms or ethics and morality when you compare a RINO with a PROGRESSIVE. I.e. very little of it.

LOL. Good observations!! ;-) Santorum has some rough edges to be honed, but then again he is just being himself. That said, with a little bit of coaching on just a few items, this guy could REALLY kick a and take names, and I am so looking forward to a match up between him and Obongo come November. FR is going to go crazy in support and all this ridiculous internecine fighting will be DONE WITH. ;-)

More reasons for people to go to Santorums website, sign up as a remote caller from home, and do get out the election day vote calls all throughout Michigan with just a phone (hopefully a phone card, unlimited dialing or skype) and the computer list provided with the script. Heck you could be on a beach in Florida for that matter soaking up the rays calling voter after voter in freezing Michigan. It would be FUN! Imagine your personal and emotional sense of "ownership" in some way when watching the results come in and the remote broacast from Rick's headquarters. Get involved folks. Some people might even want to take off all of tomorrow, Tuesday, to get this done and make hundreds of calls from homes...these will invariably will not be to undecideds to argue with them, but to conservatives to urge them for whatever reason NOT to sit at home on Tuesday but to get out there and vote if they have not already by absentee, for Rick Santorum over BISHOP ROMNEY. A Tuesday well spent stateside, if you ask me, Freepers.

I am sure there are long term supporters of Santorum, I have never been a fan. His endorsement of Arlen Spector and Mitt Romney told me everything I need to know. In my opinion, he has always been a political opportunist and that is how he is running his campaign now.

Wait! I thought (according to some people’s reasoning around here) that Rick Santorum was not to the Right, but rather a squishy, moderate, sellout RINO somehow. Does not compute.

Well, you certainly cannot please everyone, so I am not in the position to take such a belief away from you. Its yours, so be it. I have a different take. How boring thing would be if we all thought the same thing. At least we can agree on what a disaster Obongo is.
