Time for your weekend break from politics. Most of us are, by now, familiar with the idea of seizure dogs and therapy dogs who assist owners with special medical needs. But a seizure cat? Keep this in mind if youre ever considering rescuing a feline from the local shelter. From Wisconsin.
Amy Jung and her son, Ethan Jung, originally went to the Door County Humane Society on Feb. 8 to play with the cats, not to bring one home. Then Jung, 36, saw Pudding lying on a counter. She made a quick decision to adopt Pudding and his pal Wimsy.
At around 9:30 p.m., she went to bed and about 1½ hours later, the prodigious kitty came to her rescue.
Jung, who was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 4, started to have a seizure. According to Jung, Pudding planted his weight on her chest and, when he could not wake her, began swatting her face and biting her nose.
Anything he could to pull me out of it (the seizure), she said.
Unfortunately, just waking up wasnt enough. The woman couldnt make it out of bed or awaken her son Ethan to help her by yelling. So the cat rushed into Ethans room, jumped on his head and woke him up. They called for medical help and the woman was saved. (One sad note for Ethan the cat weighs 22 pounds, which would probably wake up anyone.)
This isnt the first time this has happened, though. The video below relays the story of another cat who saved a different woman who was having a heart attack.
You may now resume your regularly scheduled discussion of whether dogs or cats are better. Personally, I have both.
.. Ping!

The next day she spoke with her doctor about her seizure and her cat’s unusual actions. The doctor told her he had heard of animals alerting their owners to a health crisis but had never known anyone who had experienced it.
“Realistically you can’t be without him,” he told her. Jung is registering Pudding as a therapy animal.
Pudding will also sit at her feet and meow when her blood sugar is low, she said.
Nature is amazing. Way too many cool stories about beings of other types taking care of each other not to believe in a higher power.
I am so glad for these people, and of course the animals.
My own thoughts about my own dogs (3) and cat (1) rescuing me......well, I’m wondering.
So at night, usually around 4 a.m., when my wife’s tomcat jumps on me, I’m to think he is concerned about my health.
My cat Rudy did the same thing for me.We lost him in 2010 at 10 yo.I miss him dearly.
I used to have a cat that would warn me about bad stuff all the time. One morning he warned me I was gonna slip on some ice. Another evening he warned me I was gonna hit the the garage door with my car. There was even one time he warned me some stock I recently bought was gonna drop. I was beginning to think this cat was something really special- that is until the day I was cleaning up his cat toys underneath the couch and I found this old Magic 8 Ball.
Well, he knew right away the jig was up and he ran away the next morning. Now he’s pulling that same stunt on some poor boob down the street.
