Did CNN ship in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir - or is that just typical Arizona?

I think they stacked the audience again.

Mesa, AZ *is* Mormon.

I would LOVE to see Newt give zero the smackdown. I really would. Santorum’s doing decent. He’s a decent pol, but I feel like he still needs more experience. I respect his conviction, quite a bit. Paul is hilarious. I enjoy and respect his beliefs on a whole lot of things, and enjoy hearing him discuss the issues. Incidentally, I am a proud member of the Anybody But Obamney crowd, so I’ll skip mittens.

Mesa Arizona was founded by Mormons in the late 1800’s, has a large temple there, and a large LDS population.

“I think they stacked the audience again.”

**********************************************
Of course they did. They stack it in a manner that they hope will disadvantage the target du jour. And that target of course is now Santorum.

I've been tenuously leaning towards Santorum. He's good. I want his convictions to be real and true, because that's what we need right now.

But when he says things like he did just now, I worry.

"I supported it, even though I didn't believe it. Sometimes you have to take one for the team."

Thanks for clearing that up Allon. That explains the fact that this audience even preempts Mitt himself from talking because they applaud as soon as he takes his breath to speak.

It sounds like they woud applaud if he simply passed gas, which isn’t much of a stretch considering the similarities between the latter and his campaign platitudes.

Sure they did, it gives the media a reason to tell us how inevitable Romney is.

Now we’ll be treated a pro Romney focus group with Frank Luntz to reinforce the illusion.

I thought the applause went to all the candidates this time; much better than the pro-Mitt Florida rally. I think it was because they all attacked Obama more.

Romney has stacked the audience in many other debates.

The biggest mistake of this primaries season has been the insane overrating of debates and how the media used these debates to control the primaries and turned them into stupid reality shows. Those stupid debates have nothing to do with someone qualifications to be President. Presidents do not govern and shall not govern in 30 second sound bites and 3 second zingers. This stupid meme "must be quick on his feet" is a fallacy created by the media and repeated by so many fools on our side. We do not want our President to be making quick decisions in 30 seconds that will affect our nation and the world. There is no stupid moderator ringing a bell for the President in case he does not make a decision in 30 seconds.

What is also extremely depressing is the number of fools on our side who fell for the media overrating of the debates and based their opinions on how someone answers a question in a 30 seconds setting or what type of 3 second zinger he gives or how many applauds he gets.

Shame on all those fools on our side, and sadly there far too many of them on our side… We are supposed to be the smart ones but I do not see it.

Your right. I’m sure the “establishment” made a deal with cnn to help obama I mean romney—

Did you also notice that the questions were to help romney to the point where they asked “romney” a question about santorum, basically inviting romnney to attack santorum.

I continue to say I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR ROMNEY. I WILL GO THIRD PARTY. I won’t vote for a liar.

I’m torn between Santorum and Gingrich; Santorum’s mea culpas about No Child Left Behind and supporting Snarlin Arlen are somehow refreshingly honest. Noot has two of “those” type issues as well...and his, no matter how great he does in a debate scare the Hell outta me. He won’t disavow Global Warming and he supported the individul mandate (for 20 years). Either of those can be thrown back at him by Buh-Rock. Noot needs to to do a Rick confessional and he hasnt (and I believe he thinks he doesn’t have too).

Romney, no matter how many nice, affluent Mormons he has around him clapping and cheering is still the author of Romneycare.

Yes - and don’t forget “wheels for Welfare” where Romney gave away free automobiles, free auto-repairs, free auto-insurance - and even free AAA! http://bostonherald.com/news/us_politics/view/2011_1018mitt_defends_his_welfare_wheels_from_gop_outrage

It is unfathomable HOW nobody has brought it up in the debates or campaign commercials. Romney CREATED this welfare benefit in Mass!

It had to be scrapped by Scott Brown and even the Democrat Governor who succeeded him because it was bleeding the state red!

This is supposed to be a conservative who brought his “business acumen” to government!

The RNC is stacking the deck for Romney...

They learned their less in SC, when Gingrich brought the house down...there will be no more of that.

Gingrich the winner tonight.

Romney getting better.

Santorum blew his chance imo.

Apparently SOME people AREN'T listening. They didn't have to stack the audience. Mesa is on the east side of the Valley of the Sun, and it is populated by a huge LDS population. In addition, the LDS have a temple there. So the odds were already stacked. This time, CNN didn't do it. The Mormons did it.. But, apparently SOME people AREN'T listening.
