Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania has a commanding lead among Republican presidential candidates in Texas, according to a new University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll.

Santorum would get the votes of 45 percent of the respondents if the election were held today, according to the survey. The other three candidates in the GOP race-former U.S. Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas--are clustered well behind. Gingrich got 18 percent, Romney received 16 percent and Paul garnered 14 percent.

The Texas vote got moved back to late May because of lefty law suits but this poll is just an indication of the way the country is moving.

The white hut and the msm fear Santorum more than any of our candidates because his major flaw, in their eyes, is his religious Faith.

Want to watch their heads explode;

Santorum - Palin 2012, If we go any further to the right, we will cross the international date line.

With Texas being pushed pretty much out of the picture with a late May or later primary this probably won't impact the nomination.

“The Texas vote got moved back to late May because of lefty law suits but this poll is just an indication of the way the country is moving.”

This poll is no indication of any such thing. It is just a part of the liberals devious plan to take Texas and its 155 delegates out of the equation in determining who the republican nominee will be.

The “lefty lawsuits” are part of the larger plan to manipulate and control, and void the will of the people of Texas. The “lefty lawsuits” could not have accomplished their purpose without the full cooperation of the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches of the Federal Government and the media. Now you are see front groups like UT and the trial lawyers contribution to the effort.

Just an FYI.

Rick Santorum is leading for two reasons:

1. The public crusifixion of Newt Gingrich by Mitt Romney, the Media and establishment republicans. Much of which is inaccurate and some plain false. His own moral failings are public knowledge. (I am glad mine aren’t). But to think the others are innocent of moral failings is to discount much of the gospel. Newt is redeemed and forgiven by God, we would do well to do the same.

2. Ron Paul is unacceptable because of a naviee view of radical Islam and their purposes. Mitt Romney is the worse kind of politician, seeking office solely for the purpose of self interest...and does anything and everything to get elected.

Rick is what most people believe they have left. So they build him up in their own minds in order to get excited about his candidacy. He is an average Jr. Senator, that needs more seasoning, and in a sense a very average communicator. He will lose to Obama.

I think Texas might like long tall Texans. Or those who look the part like a Santorum or a Reagan. Newt better get himself a hat quick!

I live in Texas, and I guess you know this was an internet poll. Newt has strong support in this state. Rick has a group of conservative activist in North Dallas that are funding him and supporting him pretty heavy in the state. Newt does have his work cut out, but it is hardly this one-sided. If Rick trips up even a little or Newt has a strong debate this week you will see those numbers change quickly. People are not sold on Rick Santorum, for the most part they don’t know him. And for Rick, that is a blessing I think. He is not Romney, and for that many love him, INCLUDING ME.

Are you kidding? Santorum is someone that I personally have hope for, for a long time. He is EXACTLY what people have been hoping for. A guy who is going to bring morals back to our country. We have been lacking morals for so long and FINALLY we will have a President who is principled and moral. Besides Palin, Santorum is perfect for what our country needs right now.
