Today in Forsyth, GA:

Gingrich poked fun at President Barack Obama's subsidy for those purchasing electric cars, saying "you can't put a gun rack on them."

A .306? Is that cross between a .308 and a .30-06?

:^)

This is a little dated, don’t you think? What is the point of it?

Sadly, Bill Ruger is one of the reasons gun control was as successful as it was in America. He threw everyones rights under the bus in order to give his company an edge in the market.

I’ll never give that company money until they UNDO the damage that Bill Ruger did. He supported the 1968 GCA, he was an ardent supporter of the 1994 semi auto ban.

Too bad Gingrich associated himself with Ruger... he could have done much better.

Newt wasn’t very pro-gun as Speaker. Then again, nobody running at the moment really is.

"He supported the 1968 GCA, he was an ardent supporter of the 1994 semi auto ban."

That ban excluded the Mini-14. A decent carbine.

But there's no doubt Ruger threw everyone else under the bus.

You are correct, Sir. Bill Ruger had a tiered system for selling the Mini-14 - even in semi-auto configuration. He also choked (as did S&W and Bushmaster) during the krinton assault on the 2A. Further, Mr. Ruger was the one that began the ‘Responsible ownership’ mantra that many anti-2A pols have picked up. I had little doubt that he would’ve sold out Americans for a little gub’mint bidness back in the day.

How unlike Mr. Barrett...

The funds raised in these FReepathons go to pay our current quarter expenses. But we're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little extra now, if we can, and the rest next quarter.

Of course. What better venue for Newton to strut his manliness than a trip to another wobbly - S&R?

Don’t redefine Constitution with no individual right to arms

Over the last 50 years the Supreme Court has become a permanent constitutional convention in which the whims of five appointed lawyers have rewritten the meaning of the Constitution. Under this new, all-powerful model of the Court—and by extension the trail-breaking 9th Circuit Court—the Constitution and the law can be redefined, unchecked, by federal judges.

Anyone who thinks various Supreme Court decisions are not adequately worrisome need only look at the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to see how domination by secular Left-liberal judges will change America. It is hard to imagine that one court could be so out of step with the views of the vast majority of the American people. And it is unforgivable that this destructive pattern could have been going on for a generation without an effective challenge.

For example, consider the following 9th Court decision: Silveira v. Lockyear, (2002): The 9th Circuit held there is no individual right to keep and bear arms.

I was on a Townhall call with Newt Gingrich a few days ago on Gun Control. He mentioned activists judges several times. Our local chapter of the NRA has given Newt a high rating.

Every member of our household has a carry permit and we keep up with 2nd Amendment issues.

Thanks for your post.

Then the new management at Ruger needs to put it’s money where it’s mouth is and get some of that junk repealed.

Don’t forget that the NRA also gave Harry Ried it’s endorsement blessing in 2010 and did a little happy puff piece on him just in time for his last election.

Just because it’s got the NRA approval doesn’t mean it’s good for your freedoms...

I listened to what Newt had to say and I’m not worried about him and the 2nd Amendment. Romney....different story.
He joined the NRA just before he ran for governor. I found his comment about “keeping a gun for small varmits” pathetic.

I was surprised to see this thread turn so ugly, some of these anti-Newt people are getting like the rabid anti-Palin people were, they want to smother every thread, they seem angry at JR’s endorsement.
