Then how come abortionists, Barbara Boxer, Planned Parenthood, every single sexually deviant psychotic liberal hate Santorum so much?
1. “[I]ndirect funding” means it wasn’t a bill specifically about funding. Knowing RATs, this was probably tacked onto something like military pay funding.
2. Blocking PP access is wrong if you’re doing it on public grounds. Or, maybe, you like the Occupy idiots clogging up cities and pooping all over everything?
3. Every ‘R’ politician has had something to do with the Sphincter over the last 50 years. Bush II kissed his butt, too, don’t forget.
This piece has to work a little harder to be worthwhile. Of course, there’s not too much to work with considering that Santorum was a Senator actually targeted by the DNC for elimination - an honor not many can boast.
The text of what HR 796 said:
“Outlines proscribed acts, including the physical obstruction of entrances to said clinics or acts intended to damage the property, and intimidation or use of force against a person seeking to enter and abortion clinic.”
Physical obstruction, damage of property and intimidation. THAT’s what the bill prohibited. Barring people from acting like OWS thugs is bad because...?
It doesn’t take hooliganism to protest the abortion industry.
Facts can be annoying things.
That is a bald faced LIE. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.
Fact: HR796 passed the house on voice vote. 1993-1994.
Fact: When it's equivalent senate bill, S.636, came to a vote in the house in the SAME year, Santorum voted to TABLE the bill...aka kill it. Santorum later VOTED AGAINST THE BILL ITSELF when it came back to the house.
Fact: Santorum voted to kill this bill twice.
Rick Santorum, a pro-life Roman Catholic, had voted to fund indirectly (through title X family planning) Planned Parenthood clinics.
Wow. Are we not reaching. He indirectly voted for......whatever.
Gingrich is a loose cannon who sat on the couch with Nancy Pelosi.
Ron Paul doesn't mind if Isreal is vaporized by Iran.
And now Santorum supports abortion.
DAMN - there's no one left...
He also enthusiastically campaigned for pro-abortion Arlen Specter against the more conservative Pat Toomey.
One voted for fags in the military and one didn’t. Hint......Toomey did.
Right...
Fellowship of the Minds
Conservatives who love America
A more appropriate name....
Fellowship of some Minds
Liberals who love Romney
Here come the intellectual gymnastics. It’s amazing what your will to excuse when you support the candidate.
All these holier then now santorum supporters are just now starting to understand the power of the dark side.
The “true conservative” has no clothes.....
I dislike Romney more and more every time I read this crap.why don’t you tell us about Mitt’s pro abortion stand. Rick has always been against abortion, Mitt is new to the party.
I can only speak for myself, but there WAS a time when I thought the likes of PP and AARP were sacrosanct. I think a lot of people did. But once the curtain of mendacity which shielded both organizations slowly rotted and fell away, I saw them for what they really are. PP is a gang of Baby Killers for Hire, and AARP is a pro-socialist echo chamber for the ‘Rat Party.
I choose to believe that when Rick lent PP his support, it was when his vision, like mine, was obscured by the fog of pseudo-respectability that surrounded them. There is no way Santorum would have supported them if he’d realized that their raison d’etre was killing babies, and NOT women’s HEALTH!
I decided just to look at this one.
November 18, 1993 - Roll Call 582 - Motion to recommit
PA 1 Rep. Richard J. 'Rick' Santorum Republican YeaA "Yea" vote was to recommit the bill to committee -- the final chance at killing a bill. Santorum voted to kill the bill.
After this vote, the bill was passed by the DEMOCRATIC house, by an unrecorded VOICE VOTE.
So, I have no idea where you got the idea he voted for the bill. But I have a guess -- the term "key vote". That's a term used by project Vote Smart, but it just means the vote that mattered on the bill. VS just reports the highlights of a bill, and that includes the "key votes".
So that's my guess, you went to project vote smart, looked up key vote, found the roll call, saw Santorum was a "yes", and missed that the only recorded vote was the motion to recommit.
I hope you can get the moderators to pull or edit your post, to correct this error.
this is the best you’ve got ? you keep scraping the bottom of the barrel to trash Santorum...and it ain’t working.
Here’s what I hate about posts like yours. I don’t mind talking about this stuff here. But go to Google and type “Rick Santorum Title X”, and the title of this post is the 2nd hit. So FreeRepublic is being used to spread the false claim that Rick Santorum funds planned parenthood.
Sure, that’s what the stupid blog said, but the stupid blog gets no hits, and google doesn’t care about it. FR on the other hand gets lots of hits and now good people will be misled because of this thread.
