I think this Dad is on the right track. It is the parents who don't take a round turn on their kids and show them that they can't do anything they feel like and there wont be consequences for their actions. He is showing an active interest in raising that daughter which is more than I can say for most parents out there right now.

The punishment needs to fit the crime.
On the first day of spring break the year my oldest daughter was fifteen, I overheard her tell a friend on the phone that she was being forced to spring clean the entire house by herself all week while her three sisters and her parents did nothing.

Good dad! Consequences for actions has to be the most important lesson a parent can impart to their children. You can’t make them learn the lesson but it’s very important to give it.

That was a Windows laptop. All he needed to do was browse onto a casino site, and the dadratted thing would have been eaten alive by viruses, scareware, phish pages, spyware and Internet Explorer toolbars in minutes.
