The US is not targetting innocent civilians at funerals. We are targetting Taliban forces who try to coverup the scene of a drone strike so that:
1. We won’t know who we killed, how many, or how many were wounded, or escaped.
2.They can recover documents and weapons before anyone else gets there.
3. They can hide the bodies from view and claim exaggerated casualties.

The communist line comes in, esp. from Hanoi and the Hanoi Lobby, that Americans deliberately killed only “women, children and old people” in our bombing campaigns over No. Vietnam.

Never mind that photos showed anti-aircraft batteries and missiles located in civilian areas, as well as military stockpiles, etc.

The same claims were levelled against Israel by the PLO in Lebanon until photos showed PLO tanks and anti-aircraft weapons housed between civilian housing projects.

The implications of what this writer is saying gets even worse. What he is conceding is that for eight years the Democrats undermined our war effort against Islamofascism for partisan reasons only. They opposed for the sake of opposing. They really had no principled reason to oppose. Their actions today and support for it proves this beyond a reasonable doubt. All the wailing about black sites, waterboarding, Abu Ghraib was all BS. Even thou their wailing boasted the morale of the Iraqi insurgents,gave them the reason to hang on until the Surge, their only care was to get Republicans. I contend that if the Democrats had shown the same support for rigorous counterinsurgency as they do for Obama, this war might have ended years ago. I always felt that their opposition to Bush gave our enemies the will to go on.
