Santorum kills Impeachment proceeding against Bill Clinton
The Freedomist ^ | 1-20-2012 | Collier Brothers

Posted on 02/07/2012 11:50:33 AM PST by TitansAFC

Rick Santorum tells South Carolina voters that he is the only conservative purist in the field, attacking Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney for being unreliable conservatives. Well, THE FREEDOMIST has already exposed Rick Santorum for his betrayal of a core conservative value, the right to work, the protection against Union thuggery. He is FOR right to work but NEVER votes for right to work legislation. He also endorsed Arlen Specter in his 1996 Presidential run, in 2004 against true conservative Pat Toomey, AND even endorsed Mitt Romney in his 2008 Presidential run. Well, worse than even his right to vote betrayal and his endorsements of RINOS and future democrats was the work that he did as a Senator in the Clinton years, when he and Trent Lott undermined the Senate efforts to bring Bill Clinton to trial after the House impeached him for lying under oath.

That’s right, this pure conservative, who attacks like a tiny lap dog (see Thursday’s debate for a classic example of what an attack lap dog looks like when he nips at the heels of others), was instrumental, along with Trent Lott, in stopping the Clinton Impeachmment proceeedings, in rescuing Bill Clinton from facing a fair trial of his peers. This action should not be surprising to the people who remember how aggressively Rick Santorum worked to torpedo a true conservative, Pat Toomey, in 2004, from removing a future democrat and former RINO, Arlen Specter.

Here is all the proof you need to see that Santorum, in fact, killled the impeachment proceedings against Bill Clinton, just another reflection of how Santorum is the face of Conservative Purity in Name Only (CPINO- which also sounds like the name of an exotic small wolf dop that yips and yips and yips at everyon’e ankles):....

Also, with regard to the “bailouts” I’m not familiar with Newts position. From what I understand, I agree that the first TARP was necessary. The subsequent, I’m not as convinced... and I could be mistaken about either. I would appreciate being better informed in either case.

As to Specter, it is well known and should be available easily with google. This is one:

Not sure about this link - was imbedded to me regarding Sortorum earlier:

Don’t get me wrong, I still support Santorum - it’s just that I don’t think he is the Conservative that I had hoped he was...

What a totally lame posting.

I was there, and remember it all.

Was I disgusted that Clinton wasn’t removed from office?

You betcha.

However, I understand their reasoning.

Would you want a recent incumbent Al Gore?

Stop with this nonsense.

Sorry, don’t agree with any of the bailouts! It was simply another ruse to pass monies from the taxpayers to the companies that were about to go bankrupt.

Yes, you can say that if we really let all those companies go bankrupt, it would be a disaster. I say, it would have been good riddance!

Especially the government holdings - Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac...

One more thing...it was Trent Lott who ultimately prevented Clinton’s removal.

This came from James Rogan, a House Manager. It is not a lame posting. Were you in the room when Santorum and Lott told the House they could not have a real trial? Algore would not have been able to carry the corruption of Clintons had they been removed.

For what it’s worth... I think it could have all gone to AIG, but I can imagine there was good reason to spread it around more. I think it was an attack on our financial system like Black Friday was, and I do trust the first far more than the subsequent. But I’ll have to follow up tomorrow. Thank you for your responses.

For that matter, was James Rogan in the Senate room when it was decided?

I have always admired Rogan. Would you please confirm that TitansAFC is James Rogan?

At that time, Clinton was gold. He would have been able to surmount anything thrown at him...as he well did. Just look at him today, and just count the hundreds of millions of dollars that he’s amassed since then.

The Republicans were the bad guys, and Clinton was a rock star, even after impeachment. He would have been able to carry Gore to victory simply based on the spin that Gore was a victim, and would carry on Clinton’s legacy.

Yes, most of the response by the Government and Fed was based on paranoia - what if. That is because they don’t believe that the private sector can actually survive and even thrive after such problems. Nothing new here - Government control ya know.

Seems that it continues with the housing market and even the banking system (help where it is not really needed but welcome nevertheless, hey, all of the bankers are getting rich because of their actions). Sometimes Government intervention causes much more harm than it pretends to help. It does make welcome and sometimes dependent customers.

Any attack on our financial system was BECAUSE of Government not in spite of! This failure was caused by their determination to get everyone into a house regardless of their ability (See black groups pushing “fair” loans - see bank provocation). This attitude cascaded into Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac doing their part, the major banks doing their part, and the public seeing possibilities (what, no checks or minimum down payment) did their part. What did they expect!

All of this was initiated by our own wonderful Government and it has caused the current depression and housing crisis!

Now they want more control to fix the problem. Let’s start with a few trillion to keep our financial system from going bankrupt and back that up with another few billion to Fannie and Freddie just to be sure. Yes, lets give them a bit more control - what say you?

Just what the Doctor ordered.

Were you in the room when it was decided that they wouldn’t remove Clinton?

I was not in the room when Lott and Santorum told the House there would be NO trial with live witnesses or the production of evidence. But James Rogan kept a diary, and as noted his book was published May 2011 recounting what took place.

For that matter, was James Rogan in the Senate room when it was decided?

James Rogan attended the meetings where Lott and/or Santorum what the Senate ground rules for a 'trial' would be.

I have always admired Rogan. Would you please confirm that TitansAFC is James Rogan?

I have no reason to know or to believe that TitansAFC is James Rogan

At that time, Clinton was gold. He would have been able to surmount anything thrown at him...as he well did. Just look at him today, and just count the hundreds of millions of dollars that he’s amassed since then.

Clinton was 'fools' gold, and had the GOP establishment had the mind and spine they could have tossed him out of the White House. They had the evidence and the witnesses but they were afraid of their own shadow.

The Republicans were the bad guys, and Clinton was a rock star, even after impeachment. He would have been able to carry Gore to victory simply based on the spin that Gore was a victim, and would carry on Clinton’s legacy.

I remember Watergate and Nixon was treated like trash by even Republicans. Liberals knew first hand they could forever roll the establishment Republicans.

For a people who are the 'right' we sure seem to cower down to the lying corrupt leftist at every turn. What happened since Hillary Clinton's health care plan for US that was soundly rejected to a few short years later to being under the rule of Obama 'death'care?

I will take James Rogan's diary account about what transpired than anything mouthed out of the Senate. And to say that we got 'good' judges from that old snake Spector is just too early to tell. I have no confidence they will follow the Constitution and end the abomination of Obama's death care.

Further, I have had my fill of the pious PROUD-GOP establishment ragging on Newt's his sins when they the establishment had no back bone to stand up to the lying corrupt Clintons. And there is NO doubt what role Santorum has played in the PROUD-GOP establishment, and he deserves his share of the credit.

Any voter that is a PROUD-GOP is not a Conservative and has not been following events for at least 10 years or so...

Sorry for butting in, but the idea of a proud GOP made me laugh.

You are not butting in. Do you remember Foley? Well that was way back in 2006, when the perverts decided to as I call it 'Foleyize' the so called values voters in election 2006. That is the year liberals regained the control of the House. So while it is NOT widely advertised PROUD has been playing a role of the GOP establishment much longer than most realize. Yet to hear the GOP establishment they still to this day blame 'values' voters for allowing the liberals to retake control of the House.

Just look at who the GOP establishment hangs with and courts the PROUD as if Conservatives are naked and unfulfilled.

Heh, well, they don’t call the GOP Party the stupid party for no reason. Always has been and they are still hanging on - waiting for praise from the Liberal Media no doubt.

Geez, can we ever get a Conservative Party?

I cannot tell you I am full of confidence in that regard. This nation is in a world of hurt and the one person on the scene that spoke any common sense 'Drill - baby - Drill' was so Alinskized she decided her first calling was to protect her children. You think for one minute it would be tolerable for any of US to trash the Obama's kids. NOT that I would. But one lesson I have learned is narcissism is not just limited to democrats. Buyer be aware!!!!

Heh! You betcha! My brother idolizes her - now I would not go that far but would love to vote for her. She at least seems so reasonable and Conservative (hard combination to find). Yes, the liberal media has already gone after her and her family so that would no longer be and issue (really creepy of them if I say so myself)...

Too bad that she decided not to run, but actually understand her decision. Maybe next time...

Well I do not idolize any flesh being... I love my family... And Sarah knew what is the engine of our economy. Every time I have to put gas in my vehicle I think where are the stupid Republicans, because I know for sure the liberals do not think I am paying enough.

I might add that narcissism is almost a requirement if you are running for President. Anyone with common sense would not even try today - that is a real problem.

In the past, you had to practically force someone to run for President (long time ago) - too bad that does not happen today.

Now it is all about money, power, and prestige..Not exactly great attributes for President. Does that mean that our Republic is destined to fail?

We are all flawed in some respects. But narcissism has gone viral like a plague and there seems to be no treatment for adult sufferers. I think public education is the common vehicle used to program minds to disregard reality. I sure remember what my children acted like at two years of age... total and complete narcissists. Finally they grew up. But our society has so deteriorated, that every where I turn, young and old, like who they are, and really could care less about what is going on around them. Anybody but Obama really misses the depth of our hurt.
