New Poll Finds The More People Learn About Romney, The More They Dislike Him
Talking Points Memo ^

By a more than two to one margin, Americans say that the more they learn about Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney, the more they dislike him, per a new Washington Post / ABC poll:
Overall, 55 percent of those who are closely following the campaign say they disapprove of what the GOP candidates have been saying. By better than 2 to 1, Americans say the more they learn about Romney, the less they like him. Even among Republicans, as many offer negative as positive assessments of him on this question. Judgments about former House speaker Newt Gingrich, who denounced Romney on Saturday night in Nevada, are about 3 to 1 negative.

To not vote for Romney (should he get the nomination) is to vote for Obama. That is the dilemma.

A local radio station had Ms. Erickson on recently. I’m not sure that any of the big players you mentioned would have the courage, but it’s worth a try.
Good suggestion and I always appreciate your posts.

Romney is a stooge. Against the Obama Media machine, he will look like the idiot he is. Obama has hundreds of millions to spend on the election, he has the Bully Pulpit, free advertising from the daily talk shows on TV, “news” reports, etc. And they have Hollywood writers and directors on staff to plan his Public Relations campaign.
Romney will be outclassed and outgunned, 100 to 1. Romney cannot win against Obama. His lack of personality and genuine personal appeal will prove me right next November.

I've a Senator here in OK....Tom Coburn, whom I respect, and think is a decent guy. But he thinks insider trading by House members isn't a problem???? Are you kidding me?? I live in central Oklahoma and grew up in NE Oklahoma. I would like to see Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana secede and form a new nation.

You’ve just affirmed my morning prayers. Have asked God to use me....recently questioned that the messages were connecting with anyone. Asked this morning that he’d let me know if this mission that is being pursued was His will.
Thank you.
Praise the Lord and pass the information.

Yep.. it appears Romney will “win” the GOP nomination and go on to gracefully (and by a landslide margin) lose the election. And the Repub estabs will pat each other and themselves on the back for a job well done.

The More People Learn About Romney, The More They Dislike Him Well, of course... All you have to do is tell (normal, decent, working, taxpaying) people that Mittens is a self-proclaimed "moderate and progressive" who "doesn't want to go back to Reagan and Bush". Who is going to like him besides the bums, deadbeats, and parasites who comprise the Democrat party base?
To: cotton1706
“Oh, Im not voting for Romney either way.”
Neither will I. But really, it doesn’t matter one way or the other, because I live in Illinois, and even if I voted for the doofus it wouldn’t make any difference, because the Obastard is going to carry Illinois in a landslide.

Just like Obama except the media was careful to make sure that no one knew much about Obama before the election.

I wish Newt would pick an interview and discuss his disdain for the Beltway mentality - his experience as an insider - why he resigned - the infighting and backstabbing - how he woke up. This is the conversation he needs to take to the general public - in a thoughtful, humble, sincere way. Not putting down any individuals, but collectively. Explaining the GOP mentality of going along to get along and not boldly standing firm against socialism. We love underdogs and we are the underdogs - along with Newt. Newt is us. I sure hope Gingrich and his campaign folks heed that good advice. Well said, sodpoodle.
Godspeed Newt Gingrich.

We have to go to war with the army we have, and not the army we want.
Usually I would agree with you, however, if there is a Progressive Liberal, AKA Mitt, leading that army, then you have a traitor to conservatism running the show.
The man is completely untrustworthy and a consummate liar.
Unworthy to lead.
I'll leave it to voters with stronger stomachs and the ability to twist themselves into pretzels in order to defend the illogic and betrayal of their own principles to vote for him.

Failing that, we must resort to holding their feet to the fire, making them either so uncomfortable they resign (perhaps to face legal consequences), or otherwise they become compliant to their constituents and not to some distant money interest that is most likely funding their campaign for office in a manner altogether at odds with the existing law.
You sir, are naive.
To: alloysteel
The best we can do, is to mount a primary challenge to the questionable RINOs and try to remove them before they become a reliable vote for the Obama agenda. Failing that, we must resort to holding their feet to the fire, making them either so uncomfortable they resign (perhaps to face legal consequences), or otherwise they become compliant to their constituents and not to some distant money interest that is most likely funding their campaign for office in a manner altogether at odds with the existing law.
While this is the correct approach to Seats in Congress, it is useless and futile where the Presidency is concerned.

Question: If Romney fails again to win the Republican nomination will he finally just go away and fade in the American political conscienceness, or will he pull a Williams Jennings Bryant on us and again polute the next election cycle?
My guess.....he never goes away....his ambition and ego are too large......he’s a very sad little man.

Bryan’s not a good example. He actually got the nomination three times. Harold Stassen’s a better example.
If Romney fails to get the nomination, he’ll be viewed as a miserable failure. And he’ll be 68 or 69 next time. He’s no Reagan. If he doesn’t get it this time, he’s done.

If Romney fails again to win the Republican nomination will he finally just go away and fade in the American political conscienceness, or will he pull a Williams Jennings Bryant on us and again polute the next election cycle? I believe the Bishop serves his religion.
In my mind, even if Romney loses, he has become a republican political leader, and he will always exploit that to deepen the penetration of Mormonism into politics, the party, mainstream America, the Christian right and so on.
Win or lose in the elections, Mormonism advances from candidate Romney.
