In ‘74, I worked for a small company in Milwaukee, that made disco equipment. Neon dancefloors, spotlights, color-organs, controllers, etc.. We did a convention in NYC, where, even though I had built and wired all the stuff, I was not allowed to hook two wires together. At the end of the convention two tough guys walk up, and ask, “Do youse guys wanna sell this stuff?” Boss got a suitcase full of money, and we set off for Cape Cod to install it all. Turned out to be a gay club. Sheesh! What a lousy job that was!

That blog had a previous story on how the Stonewall Riots happened against a local police raid. The raid supposedly took part in reaction to allegations of an international blackmail ring which was exploiting the UN.

How could the Mafia possibly benefit from a post-Stonewall situation where its former clients have risen high in politics and society?
