Sorry for the long entry, but someone told me they were from Iowa and was I was saying was not true. When I wrote this last time the thread was pulled. I don't think I did anything wrong by telling the truth, maybe it was a fluk.

The GOP and their hit people in the media have decided romney is THEIR choice and if anyone goes against them, they will be destroyed. They cheated Rick Santorum out of his momentum and only gave him Iowa after a caucus worker went to the media and told them romney only had 2 votes in that county not 22. Now they expect us to believe 8 counties “lost” all their ballots and they still don't know who won them. I'm sure they will turn up when romney needs them to win. They pushed mccain on us last time and the only reason many people voted for him was because of Sarah. So this is our future with the RNC, they pick our president and they throw us a bone by giving us a conservative VP. We keep moving left with the nominees as we watch leftist countries like Greece self-destruct? Romney has shown he will do anything to anyone who gets in his way-Alinsky tactics. How are these people different then Obama?

Election officials were mystified Thursday as to how Iowa caucus results from two North Iowa counties were not accounted for in the certified results. State Republican party officials announced the certified results of the Jan. 3 caucuses showed former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum with a 34-vote edge over former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney. Original results showed Romney as the winner by eight votes. State party officials said they did not have totals from eight precincts, including Ward 2, precinct 3 in northwest Mason City and Geneva/Reeve in Franklin County. John Rowe, Cerro Gordo County Republican chairman, said he did not know how the Mason City precinct totals were missing and didn’t want to point any fingers. “What is missing is Form E which is a signed copy of the vote totals that were phoned in on caucus night,” he said. “I sent in a foot-tall box full of forms from Cerro Gordo County for certification. There were two Form A’s, Form B, Form C, Form D and Form E from each precinct and there was other required paperwork as well. “Out of all the forms we were required to send in, Form E is the only one that wasn’t in triplicate,” said Rowe. “It’s unfortunate. It was probably a human error on one end or the other. I don’t like it being described as a `missing precinct.’ This was a very transparent process.” Rowe said there are more than 1,700 precincts in the state and only eight were unaccounted for in the final tabulation. “If my son took a physics test and got 99 percent, we’d be slapping him on the back,” he said. Karen Zander, Republican chairwoman in Franklin County, said she doesn’t know how one of her precincts was unaccounted for. She said there were 19 voters in the precinct. Bill Schickel of Mason City, vice chairman of the state Republican party, agreed. “The precinct totals would not have changed the outcome of the election,” he said. “This is a volunteer, grassroots-driven process. I feel badly that some precinct results were not certified. “There is no perfect election. But having eight precincts uncertified out of more than 1,700 is a better certification rate than ever before,” he said. “We’re not perfect. But this wasn’t anything like other states have had, like the ‘dangling chads’ in Florida.” – John Skipper, Mason City Globe-Gazette Election officials were mystified Thursday as to how Iowa caucus results from two North Iowa counties were not accounted for in the certified results. The numbers he referenced as accurate earlier today are those sworn in the affidavit by Moulton resident Edward True. Mitt Romney received 20 fewer votes than are reported from a Moulton precinct in numbers posted by the Republican Party of Iowa, the Appanoose County GOP chairman said today. The final vote between Iowa caucuses winner Mitt Romney was eight ahead of Rick Santorum. “We stand by the figures that were presented by the Moulton precinct caucus,” said Lyle Brinegar, chairman of the Appanoose County GOP. Matt Strawn, chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa, continued to express confidence Friday that the order of finish will not change. He said the party would make no further comment until its two-week vote certification process is complete. Moulton resident Edward True has signed an affidavit saying that he helped count the vote at the Garrett Memorial Library in Moulton and that the precinct had two votes for Romney, not 22, as reported online by the state GOP. Brinegar says True is correct. “I’m not disputing what Ed True said,” Brinegar said. Appanoose County has 12 caucus precincts. All but two had no votes or single-digit votes for Romney, while one had 20 votes and the Moulton site reported 22. Drake University political science professor Dennis Goldford said the results – even if the certification reveals a different answer – will change little other than bragging rights. Santorum, who for months remained in the single digits in polls, wildly beat expectations, and that is the real story, Goldford said. The caucuses don’t result in an actual election, so there’s no additional harm done in terms of having to eject a candidate from a position, Goldford noted. However, there is potential for long-term consequences regarding the credibility of the Iowa caucuses, Goldford warned. “It reinforces the view from other states that the Iowa caucuses are this unreliable, amateurish event,” Goldford said.
