That's my question, too. And, it looks like Mark Greaney wrote this one. Clancy hasn't written anything since Rainbow Six in 2004.
Tom Clancy, like Vince Flynn, Dale Brown, and a number of other authors popular with conservatives, is a very good storyteller but a horrible writer of prose fiction. Tom Wolfe was dead on in his comment a few years back that Clancy was "the best bad writer in America."
This new book might be very good if Clancy has focused on constructing the story and has let his co-author do the heavy lifting.
