Romney About to Be Pummeled by 'Devastating' SuperPAC Spots in Florida... Six Million Bucks Worth!

A fresh Winning Our Future ad is being rolled-out today- and it's the best one of the campaign: spending in Florida's eleven TV media markets is said to top $6M, while the 60-second spot
(titled 'Think You Know Mitt?') is described by those who've seen it as 'a game changer' before it's even hit the air. I myself love it because the message zeroes-in on the number one issue I -and many others- have with Romney: this guy would never repeal ObamaCare... no way.

But the Sheldon Adelson funded SuperPAC is not just making monster ad buys: to get the late-starting Team Gingrich up-to-speed on the ground, they're actually establishing a 'shadow' campaign organisation replete with field managers and elaborate get-out-the-vote efforts, busses, etc. While testing the limits of what even a SuperPAC can do, such an integrated effort comes in a timely manner for the surging Gingrich, who some doubted could get it together quick enough to maintain his now-considerable momentum.

All this of course allows Newt to roll through Florida -where he's already built a healthy lead- and waltz-off with a rich delegate jackpot while preserving the official campaign's cash -including the $2M windfall since South Carolina. It's heartening for supporters to see that Team Gingrich has found ways to counter Mittens' mountain of money and well-established ground-game.

This one is gonna hurt...

And how stupid must Romney feel, losing traction with voters fast and NOW a daunting negative onslaught from Gingrich allies...  it never had to be this way, ya big dummy!

Newt ran a positive campaign from the very start while strongly encouraging the others to do the same.  Cynics may say the Former House Speaker had the most to fear from personal attacks due to 'baggage', yet we all know it was MittPACs spending $3M on an negative ad blitz to not win Iowa that forced Gingrich to go nuclear on them... and all for no gain whatsoever:  they now face a harsh retribution at the worst possible time for Romney's teetering campaign.

Buckle your seatbelt and flip on the TV, Mittbots: first one should be running just in time for your morning coffee... a little bit of karma should go good with that.

‘People power and right idea’ Gingrich said in the S. Carolina victory speech.

The power of We the people together with the ‘Right Idea’ that is articulated so well by Gingrich will save USA from the alinsky/oneworld/commie/islamofascist destruction!

I went to Newt’s rally in Naples yesterday. It was announced that the crowd was the biggest the park had ever seen! I even did 2 interviews on the Fox 4 news!

I ran across this article from August today and I think it's germane to the conversation since Mitt is getting a little bit of what he loves to dish out:

Big Business Has Been Very, Very Good To Mitt Romney

Of Restore Our Future’s 90 wealthy donors so far, the ubiquitous Marriotts among them, four gave a million dollars apiece. One was John Paulson, described by the website Politico as “a New York hedge fund billionaire who became famous for enriching himself by betting on the collapse of the housing industry.”

The other three allegedly are corporations but none of them conduct any real business. Two, Eli Publishing and something called F8 LLC, each list the same Provo, Utah, address as trusts set up by the families of two executives at the anti-aging product company Nu Skin Enterprises. Nu Skin founders and fellow Mormons Stephen Lund and Blake Roney were big contributors to Romney’s first White House campaign in 2008. (For what it’s worth, twice in the ’90s, Nu Skin was hauled before the Federal Trade Commission and paid a total of $2.5 million to settle allegations of unsubstantiated product claims.)

The other shell company, W Spann LLC, was even more mysterious. As first reported by Michael Isikoff of NBC News, it was dissolved only months after it was created, and just two weeks before Restore Our Future reported the company’s donation. As Isikoff wrote, “Campaign finance experts say the use of an opaque company like W Spann to donate large sums of money into a political campaign shows how post-Watergate disclosure laws are now being increasingly circumvented.”

After days of media demands and questions, the man behind W Spann finally came forward: Edward Conard, a retired managing director of — surprise — Bain Capital. But he only stepped up after the groups Democracy 21 and the Campaign Legal Center requested investigations by the Justice Department and the Federal Elections Commission. He made his donation “after consulting prominent legal counsel regarding the transaction,” Conard said, “and based on my understanding that the contribution would comply with applicable laws.”

Phony businesses set up for the sole purpose of laundering campaign money and shielding who’s really behind massive contributions? The donors responsible for the dummy corporations all say they have nothing to hide. So why hide it? Maybe to keep their distance, because Restore Our Future could be planning attack ads on Republican rivals and President Obama that will be harsher and more truth bending than anything Romney and his nearest and dearest can officially support.

We need to discover this and other answers before the money machine completely supplants the voting machine, and any last chance to have our voices heard is permanently stilled by cold hard cash.

Note, since there are always cries of "bigotry" whenever Mitt's religion is mentioned, and he refuses to discuss it even though SC proved it was a factor in his loss there, this article documents millions of mormon dollars going into Mitt's campaign.

Identity politics, anyone?

Also from the article, "Yes, corporate people power has served Romney well, especially when it comes to political fundraising. As Huffington Post reported this week, “According to disclosure reports filed at the end of July, 61 registered lobbyists and five lobbyist-linked political action committees contributed $137,650 to Romney’s campaign between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2011. The former Massachusetts governor raised more money from lobbyists during this period than all of his competitors combined

Remember the "lobbyist accusations Mitt threw at Newt in the last debate?

" … Craig Holman, legislative representative for the watchdog group Public Citizen, told HuffPost that Romney’s lead in lobbyist cash ‘strongly suggests that Romney is the favored candidate for wealthy special interest groups, especially K Street. They clearly think that they can get their foot in the door with Mitt Romney.’”

I read Mittens is paying people to wear his shirts and yell at cars... pathetic.

Are you sure he is paying them?

GREENVILLE, South Carolina--Outside Tommy's Ham House here this morning--where Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich scheduled back-to-back visits--a boisterous crowd of young, fresh-faced supporters was waving Romney signs and chanting, "MITT! MITT! MITT!"

But this wasn't a grassroots youth movement rooted at the University of South Carolina. No, many of the students cheering on the candidate told BuzzFeed they were actually BYU students and young Mormons from D.C. and Virginia who traveled to the Palmetto State to give their coreligionist's presidential effort a much-needed jolt of energy.

Yes- but I would say it IS because you’re a FReeper, correct.

The average Joe is probably pretty confused right about now... esp with both Obama and Romney filling their heads with junk re state run HC

And the dollar amount is truly impressive, Mittens has spent 7M in Fla so far, but this new pro-Gingrich buy is $6M all by it’s self- quite a punch

I could attend one here in Mount Dora tomorrow morning. It sounds like they are Palinesque events and passion is a good thing. Romney or Santorum cannot ever elicit that kind of passion nor can Obama by the way this cycle. The GOP elites deserve this, trying to ram someone down our throats and be quick and accept it.

Newt started out not attacking his fellow republicans, thus setting a standard. In other words, he didn't throw the first punch or start the fight.

I admire that. Of course, we know what happened. He got clobbered in Iowa by Mitt's surrogate attack ads.

Next, we got to see what happens when Newt gets attacked without provocation and, speaking for myself, SC was a joy to watch.

Newt knows how the game is played and, unlike the usual GOP republicans, he fights to win and I believe he'll fight for us.

I believe he'll take that fighting spirit and ability and use it to reform our very broken system. He's done it before and, now an older, wiser, more grounded Grandfather Newt is the best chance we have now to do it again.

The demonrats and the GOP rinos know it, too, and they're scared! Fun to watch.
