Time has come for me to leave the chaos of FreeRepublic.
Over the past 13 years I always felt that FR was the home of Conservatives with core values that could not be compromised. This election cycle has shown me that I have been wrong in my assessment.
The lack of moral or intellectual commitment by many of the FR members has resulted in the end of my involvement.
I'm sure JR and many others are pleased but know that the early years were great experiences.
God Bless to all and enjoy the next 4 years of Obama.
You’re welcome. A lot of people are being crushed under the stress of this election because it seems that we can do nothing to keep the election from being stolen by the left.
Back to the Past with him.
Thank you for proving my point.
That little flaming guy is him to a T, LOL
I see your point and with the leftist media in full swing trying to reelect Obama it will be an incredibly difficult regardless who the nominee may be. But I’m not giving up hope just yet. Thus far Obama has been on the sidelines while Republicans are battling it out. I’m waiting to see how successful he will be when trying to defend his abysmal record; it should be interesting. I’m encouraged by what I hear from family and friends who voted for him. Not only do they no longer like him, they hate him. I’m not sure that will be enough to make them vote Republican but we’ll see. :-)
You have a good chance of landing a job as a carnival barker.
I’ve seen you post a couple of times today telling people this or that.
Get over yourself.
Did the Mods meet your approval as well?
Your buddy was ZOT’d. Sadly.
Can’t figure out why and wish it hadn’t happened. Seemed like he was having a moment and it was a weak Opus.
It was weak because it wasn’t heartfelt.
He was just having a bad day and needed a little Freeper teasing to let him know it’s okay.
Okay?

I’m gobsmacked about Skyraider
Skyraider has left the building.
I’m not a spring chicken ‘round these parts any longer, and it depresses me to find out ‘bout passings, and opus’ and bannings of long-time members.
I can’t even deal with the opus itself now.
Yeah, Marty60 was a nasty little gasbag who never allowed for civil disagreement. Good riddance.
Here here!
Yep Romney supporters, Ubams supporters, can’t tell a difference really, same big government, just one promising to do big government better than the other.
The American people - to my chagrin - have no stomach for any sort of conservative principles exceptin' (maybe) Hoover style-Republicans (and even that's probably extreme right-wing these days).
Its all SEP these days by "conservatives", i.e., somebody elses problem or NIMBY (not in my back yard). You're NOT taking away my foodstamps, Medicare/Medicaide/Social Security/Section 8 housing, et ali.
No, sombody else needs to bear that brunt.
I don't buy that crap that its the GOP foisting lousy candidates upon us. Any candidate that wants to can run; I'll not dispute that GOP may not support candidates candidates that deviate from the official group-think philosophy.
What's stunning is how much things have changes since 2008. After that "landslide" election, and the emergence of Palin and the TEA party onto the scene, proclamations abounded of the demise of the Democrat Party.
The best we can hope for is the likes of Mitt Romney at this time. What's unknown is HOW well Ron Paul will do through out the primaries until the convention.
My understanding of how U.S. of A. political system works is that this is a two party system and there NO room for a third party. As soon as a third "party" shows up that garners enough political clout to become a threat, and one or the other (or both parties) steal its planks into their own platform. That's how the two party system remains in power.
What we need to do is throw ALL of our weight into Ron Paul at this time. The lame stream media will have the people believe the election is a done deal after the first three primaries.
The thing is that there's a bottom of the ice-berg of politic that goes on behind the scenes at the convention. WE - THE PEOPLE - send the message based on our voting during the primaries what the general election is going to look like and what the issues will be about.
IF it comes down to a decision betwixt Newt & Ron Paul at convention time, my thinking is that Newt will get the nod, but depending on how robust Ron Paul's support is, if above some magical and mystical number, Newt will have to come farther to the right than he is. Guess what Obamster will have to do?
Wuss.
Crybaby.
Lib sympathizer.
Go pound sand.
???
I don't know what site you were reading, but almost nobody here supports Mittens.
That is one weird and confusing opus.
(I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you are not simply a crybaby who can't get over that YOUR candidate is out of the picture.)
You know darn well that the almighty denero has taken control here!
Help me fight this fight!
Professor Williams did not write that. You posted a probable MoveOn.org hoax.
That is why we get RINO’s
The sentiment is totally understandable, but you probably just need some time off.
I’ve been checking in rarely for the past few weeks myself.
