When the officer went into the family's garage, he encountered a German shepherd who was on a chain. So the dog was on a chain inside a garage... what was the cop doing in there?
Normally you go to the front door. Failing that you go to the back door. What was he doing in the garage?

That’s a good question. The only thing I can think of would be if the garage door was already open and thought he heard someone in there. That would be the killer’s defense.
