Of course not. Try randomly shooting a K9 and see what happens.

I have a hundred bucks that says the "Internal investigation" will exonerate the cop from all wrong doing.

The officers response was to, crap pants, shoot and kill the dog. there fixed it.

Police shoot dog?
Yawn....
Wake me up when a dog shoots a cop... (/sarc)
Unfortunately, the headline is becoming that commonplace--as is the wrong address thingy.
Maybe we should require police to be able to read and quit giving exam points for other criteria.
Those who can read (and know their numbers) don't seem to make these mistakes quite as often.

I am sick of these police just shooting dogs. They should be held responsible. Of course the dog is going to protect and they know it.

Was this chained dog a problem? It appears to be standard police practice to shoot any dog on the premises at an address to which they have been called. Or am I overstating the case?

Where I live, "keeping your dog on a chain" would be considered animal abuse. Supposedly it makes them angry and territorial.
Never mind that, when I was a kid, we kept my Beagle chained to his dog house in the day time, and I never noticed him becoming angry and territorial. And my neighbors all did the same with their dogs, and I don't remember any angry and territorial happenings....but I don't remember any pit bulls or Rotties being in the neighborhood, either.

More evidence that the Government is totally unconcerned with the 4th amendment, using the ‘drug war’ as an excuse, and many ‘conservatives’ allow it.

Why can’t people understand that occasionally the police are going to kick their front doors down by mistake every now and then? Sheesh.
