Where Would Ron Paul Supporters Rally if Paul was Not Running in the GOP Primary?

Rep. Ron Paul ran for president as a Libertarian in 1988. [GHW Bush [R] was elected]

Rep. Ron Paul ran for president as a Republican in 2008. [John McCain [R] won the nomination and Barack Obama [D] was elected]

Rep. Ron Paul is running for president as a Republican in 2012. [????] Perhaps another Obama win?

Is Rep. Ron Paul and his base helping or hindering the conservative cause?

Are they true conservatives or are they Libertarians and/or Democrats, recently graduated or "I'm so relevant" brain-washed student robots with no working ability to "think" because of their lack of history education? Who else am I missing that make up his base?

Ron Paul is running for Ron Paul, not for the Republicans and not for his supporters.

Maybe he believes that he isn’t doing harm long-term, perhaps he’s getting financially compensated to run as interference.

Don’t know.

I think they'd go for Newt because of his in your face, I'm right/you're wrong ability to expound on a matter, firing a crescendo of data and punctuate it with those under his eyes smug look.

Paulies are pinball players ... they love the buttons and whistles, the lights and occasional free play, even if they tilt, they'll drop another quarter ... they're not drunk enough, haven't found a girl to take home tonight and ain't ready to go home yet .... they still might get lucky.

Once you work to support the devil (Soros) your soul is sold. He did this when head of some commission or panel and stood by while Soros’ people were stacked on it. Whenever I see him sort of giggle when making a point, I can’t get past that he reminds me of the Bevis and Butthead characters when they laughed.

I am part of Ron Paul’s base. I didn’t start out there, but after watching all the candidates, and examining their positions, and previous history, that’s where I am now. I am here because he’s the candidate who will best limit government. This is my primary concern. The unrestrained, unlimited, daily growth of government! And, yes, I am tired of the endless foreign incursions as well. No, I do not support everything Paul says in the foreign policy realm. I think it was perfectly appropriate to go into Pakistan and kill Bin Laden. If I wasn’t in the Paul camp, I would be in the Gingrich camp.

I believe a lot of Ron Paul’s support is cynical (follow the money). Young people "looking forward" to no jobs in the Obama depression, or working on degrees in areas where government money could fund a study, a program (their professors have sucked on this tit for decades) -- instead of being “wasted” to support the "evil" military and “misguided” war on drugs -- which also ties into what they've been taught in many institutions of higher education -- so many useless degrees and “green” thinkers believing that Ron Paul is the Rx for what ails the country. So they're leaving support for Barack “hope and change” Obama at the school house/no job market door and flocking to Ron Paul which has the sweetener of hurting those “evil-rich” conservatives who are destroying the planet and are ready to “bomb” the world.

The problem for them is -- they never will get the money; it always finds another home. With the debt and deficit ballooned out of sight, that money isn't heading in their direction. The naturally productive ones will eventually “grow up” and realize the truth about living in a safe, free market society but many will hang fast to the hope (libertarians for sure) that once the "war on drugs" and the "evil military complex” have their wings clipped, some of those trillions of “wasted” dollars will certainly flow to them. It won't and their lot will be worse. We have for too long been building “me-me-itis” generations, whose values and goals are nurtured and fanned by teachings of socialist professors spawned in the Sixties who have multiplied themselves with our youth.

So Ron Paul is their cup of tea. They’re only one step away from OWS (most likely have a foot in both camps already). If Ron Paul definitively said, "I will not run third Party," much of his support would evaporate today. Which is precisely why he has not ruled it out.

Well, considering there’s no other true conservative in the race, I’d vote for the Constitution Party candidate or write in Sarah Palin if Paul wasn’t in it.

It’s unfathomable that not all Tea Partiers support Paul, since he meets and exceeds all their demands in a way none of the other candidates do. I guess if you’re a 60’s Marxist radical turned pseudo-conservative (also known as a filthy “NeoCon”), Paul isn’t your guy. But if you were for Goldwater back then, you’re for Paul now. And since polls are repeatedly showing only Romney and Paul beating Obama in a one-on-one match-up, those looking for a conservative alternative to Romney have but one place to go. So ditch the other losers and support Paul already.

(Unless Sarah Palin somehow magically emerges as a compromise candidate at the convention, in which case I am TOTALLY in the tank for her. Paul would have to settle for Treasury Secretary in that case!)

He’s a spoiler for certain, but intent is the question.

Almost seems as though he’s Captain ZOOM addicted to adulation from his Space Cadets.

Your summation assumes these many Paul supporters have never listened to his economic philosophy! Clearly he opposes the type of handouts you refer to here.
