If things get as bad as many of us think, what difference does debt make at that point? Does anyone really believe with communications, food delivery, water and power services gone, public safety services curtailed or no longer available at all, that someone will be calling you about your late credit card payment?

You know that's an excellent question that I've wondered as I've been seriously prepping for awhile now. I wonder if we can get some good Freeper answers on that. What would you rather have, some extra debt, or prep items purchased with that credit (assuming that's the actual situation).
Obviously that's not going to be most people's situation (i.e. their credit goes to purchasing pleasure and luxuries), but I've wondered about the efficacy of buying preps with credit now, and never seen it addressed.
