It doesn’t matter whether his father was a citizen. If you are born in the US you are a natural born citizen, no matter who your parents are.
you two prepared to get bombed......3.....2.....1......
Eligibility
While Romney was born in Mexico, he was still considered a viable and legal candidate for United States president. His Mormon grandfather and his three wives had fled to Mexico in 1886, but none of them ever relinquished U.S. citizenship. While the Constitution requires that a president must be a natural-born citizen, the first Congress of the United States in 1790 passed legislation stating: "The children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond the sea, or outside the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural-born citizens of the United States." Romney and his family fled Mexico in 1912 prior to the Mexican Revolution. However, the Naturalization Act of 1795 repealed the Act of 1790[citation needed] and removed the language explicitly stating that the children of U.S. citizens are natural-born citizens. As such, it is not clear that Romney [George] was actually eligible for the office of president.[citation needed]

Well if Romney gets the nod as the GOP nominee perhaps Obama can make a challenge against him. / sarc
Nope, I think this just may be the reason the Republicans have not done anything about Obama. Afterall, it is Mitt’s turn./s
You seriously do not believe that....
I heard your question the 1st time and understood it.
I’m rifling through all my stuff.
And understand you need assurance.
Romney’s dad was still a US Citizen, Mexico does not grant birthright citizenship. So Mittens was born to two citizen parents on US Soil, meets all the NBC requirements.
He is still a RINO.
Thank you for that information.
Mr Vendome made a very strong assertion, or more or less declared as a fact, that Mitt’s father was a Naturalized American.
I would say that there are many all over the net, who have looked into this fact, who would be very interested to know what information Mr. Vendome has to back up his assertions.
If I had made such a strong assertion, I would have posted the back up info by now.
Leaving Mr. Vendome’s assertion aside, there would seem to be a problem in proving that Mitt’s father ever took part in a naturalization ceremony.
If no evidence of this ceremony can be found, Mitt’s father could be perceived as a Mexican living in the US.
Meaning Mitt Romney is not eligible to stand for President.
Why on earth wouldn't I? It's been true for centuries, going back to England. The stuff you are seeing people say here now is just a birther fantasy.
OK, that’s great.
Look forward to seeing what you have.
My own observation is that its very hard to find anything to prove Mitt’s father was a citizen, and there is a lot of legal argument on the issue. None of it very definitive.
If someone could just find evidence of a citizenship ceremony, the matter would be closed.
(except for those who claim naturalization is not enough)
I am with you. Smarthy remarks with nothing to back them up are just plain rude and uncalled for.
Some claim that Mitt’s father would have to have taken out Mexican citizenship because one had to in order to be recognized and legally approved as a missionary. (or something like that)
It’s very difficult and I can’t remember where or who discovered the info but, if he ain’t NBC then he is an Anchor Baby....
if your parents are citizens and you are born in US you are a NBC. If your parents are not citizens and you are born in the US you are a citizen, not a natural born citizen

Makes sense in more ways than Barry but hey, if anyone wants to call Romney’s eligibility into question, run with it.
It’s not where you were born, it’s who you were born from? Were they American citizens? Obama Sr was not, Obama Jr is not a Natural Born American Citizen, basta!
There is a process by which the children of U.S. citizens born in a foreign nation are registered with the Embassy. Not to do so hinders later claims of citizenship.
PA-RIVER, a Freeper, claimed that George Romney has a Mexican birth certificate. If true, that would indicate his birth was registered in Mexico, possibly with local authorities in Chihuahua.
I can find no on-line information as whether he naturalized as a U.S. citizen or was registered later.
George did withdraw from a political race for Republican nominee for President after questions concerning his citizenship arose. Whether that means he discovered his parents had failed to register him with the U.S. Embassy and he needed to naturalize, I do not know.
If George Romney wasn’t a U.S. citizen then that will cause Mitt Romney problems.
Obama does not fulfill the parents issue and only an amendment to the Constition can altar that requirement. Legislation is insufficient.
