"Rick Perry Will Not Depart From His Conservative Record or Path" - The Real Record, The Real Man
Musings of a Rick Perry supporter...
I dont think the American people know Gov. Rick Perry. He burst onto the national stage and seemed like a Texan, okay, a politician with some nerve, some courage, some outspokenness, who was taking on the sacred cows and telling it like it is. But the debates reversed that image...the early ones. Then there are the lies...oh so many, many MANY lies about him. Because of them, people might be forgiven for their confusion, for not knowing what to believe.
I thought about posing questions all of which start with, Who is said to have done this or that, but in fact they did so and so instead? -- to point out the usual points being used to confuse. For example:
Who is said to have been a Gore Democrat, but who in fact had, prior to Gore running in 1988, already voted twice for Ronald Reagan and was in fact one of the millions of Reagan Democrats?
Who did porn publisher Larry Flynt say he would pay the big bucks for information on concerning any woman that could step forward and prove she had had a sexual relationship with him, in order to smear a man who in fact married his childhood sweetheart after courting and waiting 16 years for her to say yes?
Who is said to be weak on the issue of border security and illegal immigration, but in fact has been endorsed by Sheriff Joe Arpaio and has been passed over for endorsement by Senator John Amnesty McCain in favor of Mitt Romney?
Who is known for saying that he found Christ at age 27, when his Christian upbringing collided with life and cemented in his being; that he was a childhood churchgoer at his mothers insistence when she told him, "Youre going to attend one of the two churchs here, it doesnt matter which one, but pick one...youre going?"
But you know, some people might not understand how he was raised to be of good moral character and that he didnt just suddenly jump up and become someone completely different. I know what hes talking about on the conversion, but the truth is he was raised on Bible stories and morality stories about making the right choices in life for the right reasons.
People deride not only him for having been a Democrat, they are deriding his parents, grandparents and all Texans, really. And he said of his dad, recently, that his dad was a WWII tailgunner who flew in 35 missions over Hitlers Germany in 1944. This cotton farmer was of the Greatest Generation and did us all proud. Rick said, ..it was by the grace of God that despite my dads dangerous missions, he returned home without so much as a scratch.
As we know, so many did NOT come home. And his dad risked everything to defend America, and wouldve died trying if that was to be his fate.
But they were Democrats, dont you know?! Scummy people.
Sorry to get worked up, but this kind of thing has kept people from truly knowing and understanding Rick Perry, and its straight from the Devils playbook. The Bible says of the Devil, he is a liar and the father of lies.
Remember the story of when his mom was sitting in the church pew and the preacher was delivering a social gospel sermon about all politicians being liars...social commentary instead of a Bible based message to the attendees...and she stood up and said, My son is the Governor of Texas, and he is not a liar? And, to the delight of the congregation, she said it again when the preacher continued, not heeding her fair warning and defense of her son.
Who is derided for being one of the cheerleaders at Texas A&M, but in fact held the singular title of Yell Leader, which was a special leadership position on campus?
Who is said to be dumb, but in fact made the rank of Eagle Scout (as has his son), graduated from Texas A&M, joined the Air Force, piloted a C-130 around the world and left with the rank of Captain?
Who is said to have spent his life as a politician in the public sector, but in fact spent 5 years in the Air Force and 8 years cotton farming on rented land, for a total of 13 career years, along with his formative boyhood years growing up on a West Texas farm?
The la raza ricky thing is to give the impression he is very chummy, very tight with la raza, that theyre like hand in glove, when at their invite, he gave them HIS point of view rather than pandering to their agenda.
Bilderberger...guess thats the new world order or the one world government people, right? And all he did was go once, at their invite, never went back, was never asked back, and I heard him joke...cant recall the venue... They must not have liked me.
There is so much spinning, half-truths and outright lies being put out about Rick Perry, that the mind boggles. His opponents cant diminish his record so they try to bury and distort it, along with his good character.
In some ways, Rick Perry is damaged because people dont have a good handle on WHO he really is. They didnt know him, nationally, except as the Texas governor who excels at bringing in jobs.
Perry has been so gung ho to have people see and understand what has happened in Texas, and what those same policies can do for America, that perhaps he missed a key factor, that before people can put their trust in him for this highest of offices, they need to know WHO he is.
I truly believe if the American people could know and understand Rick Perry, but for the voting, this election would be over. With this information, Americans would understand where he comes from, what shaped him and be very confident that as President of the United States, he will not depart from his life-long conservative record or path in service to his country.
the fence in Arizona was a huge, hyper-expensive failure also.
I posted an article about it on here a month or so ago.
I know there’s gotta be a way to seal the border but it’s not just ‘build a fence.’ Or some cutesy comment about a moat with alligators.
Rick Perry has given a lot of thought to this problem and even gone to Israel to confer with their border people. He will be the one to solve this problem is anyone can.
Thank you for explaining all that. I didn’t have the patience to do it for the thousandth time.
Yes, that was the implied result of a state’s choice to deport. They must request that the feds take custody and deport the individual.
You are just arguing pointlessly. I will mess with you one more time.
No, you cannot get in-state tuition in Texas. Only Texans can.
However, a number of states have similar programs where children of illegals born here can receive that benefit.
I’m aware of what you said about liberal press, but the DMN does anything possible to discredit Perry and their admission that the program was good for Texas in many ways was contradictory to their usual positions.
You called my attempts to explain the fence problem weak B.S.
I’m gonna return the favor. Your whole post (which you seemed to think cleverly refuted everything I was kind enough to attempt to explain to you) was weak B.S.
Perry supporters don’t worship him, we had that with Cain supporters.
With Perry supporters we love, respect and admire the man not only for his personal virtues but for his consistent conservatism and for the way he has led Texas into remaining a prosperous growing economy when so many states are faltering.
No, you still couldn't get in-state tuition in Texas as the child of an illegal. Those children must attend Texas schools for three years immediately preceding their application for in-state tuition.
But you could move to Texas and reside here one full year to get in-state tuition. 1 year versus 3 years. You get preference over them.
Well ain’t that just grand? Follows the philosophy of “close enough for government work,” now doesn’t it?
Welcome.

“Stop Insider Trading Dead In Its Tracks”

Well, WADR, I can't look away from the man's criticism of Jan Brewer's SB 1070, or his resistance to building a physical border barrier between Texas and Mexico, his views on E-Verify (he seems to favor a rework of the concept, and he may not be wrong, but being opposed to businesses using it when it's been shown to work to a degree presents difficulties), or his intent of granting work visas to those very illegals that flout the very immigration laws that he claims to uphold. Furthermore, Perry's opposition to same-sex marriage is only at the federal level; he is not opposed to states legalizing the practice, which is something he shares (IINM) with Ron Paul. By all means, I wouldn't mind if you explained to me how those are conservative positions; thanks.
My suspicion is towards those who would brand this mans life, values and issue positions, liberal

“Why Perry Chose to Keep Running For President”
What changed his mind?
Senior Perry aides, friends and staff members told Reuters that after a restless night, Perry and his staff ultimately decided there were four reasons the campaign should continue.
Most significantly, his team essentially calculated that Rick Santorum, who emerged in Iowa as the leading conservative alternative to former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, isn’t a strong enough candidate to hold that position in future contests.
Perry’s campaign also received calls from supporters in Texas, who urged the governor not to give up. And Perry aides determined that their campaign - more so than those of Santorum, a former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, or former House speaker Newt Gingrich - had the organization and fund-raising abilities to compete with Romney in the South Carolina primary on January 21.
Finally, Perry decided that he did not want to leave the race without competing in South Carolina, a state whose conservative voting base is more in line with his politics than middle-of-the road Iowa or New Hampshire, which will hold its primary on Tuesday

Divert that? I see a fence our our side far more protective than the one proposed. Put a guard houses along it at regular intervals ans each end where the fence attaches to it.
:Hows that fence working out in San Diego? :
All the numbers show a significant drop in crossings from before it was built. Of course, illegals simply “GO AROUND” the unfenced portion of strategic fence.
Which is why we need a full one.
“Rick Perry has given a lot of thought to this problem and even gone to Israel”
Where the fence works very well...
Welcome. I encourage you to copy/paste your good ideas here. I especially like the canals.
To continue from the Water/Ag point earlier...
I live on the Colorado River in AZ. I would recommend you look up info on the pipeline/canal across the Mohave desert built in the 70s/80s supplying water to, in fac, SO Cal itself and everything in it which proves that moving water across a desert/Texas type environment is not that complex a thing to do.
A simple canal can accommodate all the water needs of ag/farms along the border. That argument is a provable non-starter. We have done it for decades. One can’t say we can do it for millions of people in Cali and not in Texas. That just doesn’t work.
Thanks,
Let me gather a couple, edit them and I’ll post shortly.
I am also interested in your thoughts about the flood plain issues we’ve faced thus far with a fence down here and how we could work canals into that scenario.
