Newt Vows Romney WILL NOT WIN the Republican Nomination, Unveils New Ad
Reaganite Republican ^ | January 2, 2012 | Reaganite Republican

"He is simply the guy the news media likes to talk about."

"Only a Reagan conservative can unite Republicans
to beat President Barack Obama in November."

Former House Speaker Gingrich on MSNBC yesterday:

(highlights mine)

'I think what's really striking about last night is three out of four Republicans once again repudiated Mitt Romney. Here is a guy that's spent millions of dollars campaigning in Iowa for five years and he has a ceiling of 25%
.
So when people talk about electability, how can you take seriously somebody after that kind of a campaign with that amount of money just flattens out at about 25%?

He'll do better here (NH) because this is sort of his home base. New Hampshire is one of his three best states. But even here, I predict you'll see him slide. By the time he gets to South Carolina and Florida, it will be obvious.

This is not a conservative Republican. He is not going to win the nomination. And he is not the most electable candidate. He is simply the guy the news media likes to talk about."

Locked in a dead-heat vs Mittens nationally, Newt is going on the offensive against Romney in a BIG way- and right now: the campaign has already placed a full-page ad in New Hampshire's Union-Leader newspaper contrasting positions on major issues with those of Mitt Romney.   Gingrich is also about to roll-out a new, aggressive ad on TV (vs Romney, embedded below) in New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Florida.

Newt said following a New Hampshire town hall meeting that voters had a choice between a "bold Reagan conservative" and a "timid Massachusetts moderate", going on to call the idea Romney was most electable as "silly".

And although he has little chance of defeating Romney in New Hampshire -who owns a home there and is up twenty points- it's great to see Newt not waiting to come at him: Mittens is a coward who likes to lob mortars from hiding, the kind that doesn't like to get called out on the rug... as Newt is proceeding to do.

After NH, it's on to South Carolina, where Newt enjoys a fifteen-point lead, followed by delegate-rich Florida, where Gingrich is out front at +7 and Mittens stuck at a 30% ceiling... a win there would put Newt instantly out-front in the delegate count.

And there's a reason you're not seeing the MSM going after Santorum like they have others... it's because the Left in this country would love to see an uncharismatic and unaccomplished candidate like him try to take on Obama, a mediocre debate talent to say the least. That and a record of accomplishment that's almost as weak as Obama's... what ever happened to "Senators make lousy presidents'...?  That 2x for lousy senators, btw. He's a nice guy... a VP slot, maybe.
Just think for a minute about why the so-called 'progressive' Left are so happy to dump on Gingrich ASAP, right alongside Team Romney... they're all worms, mortified of the Reagan Revolution II he would bring to this country.

Doubt that's what you'd be getting with a Gingrich presidency?

Art Laffer want to have a talk with you, then: he was there as was Newt...and says that's exactly what you can expect.

Now the moment you've all been waiting for...  [YouTube]

Thx Ken

You are SO right about the NH debate... Newt is in pitbull mode now, and Romneys money can’t protect him on that stage... not a bit

And he’s no oven mitt lol- this one can’t take the heat!

“He also didn’t have the $ or organization to fight back effectively, a situation that’s improved somewhat”

I hope you are right about that. Media reports that Santorum’s website crashed from so many donations yesterday and I expect a lot of people have been fooled into thinking Santorum is the way to go instead of Gingrich just because of the Iowa caucus numbers.

One thing that seems sure to me is that Santorum faces two certain defeats in a row now, NH and SC... he needs to look to Florida, where Newt’s up by 7 points over Romney and imo Santorum’s campaign will die right then and there

I think you are right about the ‘fooled’ thing, some GOPers are getting downright flakey- they’ve kind of made themselves unacceptable to manipulation by these negative ads with a litmus test mentality. Mittens know that and ran ads to take advantage of it... but who in their right mind would believe he’s more conservative than Gingrich...?

Newt is tossing a monkey wrench into the DNC plans. The goal was to get the RNC and GOP to go with Mittens THEN tear him to pieces. The MSM was to play its part by backing Mittens and supporting him until he got the nod from the Republican Party—then destroy him so Obama will win a squeaker. By attacking early—the DNC plan is foiled (it worked with McCain). Newt is doing Gods work.

“I understand the strategy being presented of Newt taking out Romney to clear the path for Santorum. I do not believe this will happen. If Newt can take Romney down, he will easily show that he is the conservative power and he will win the nomination.”

That’s right.

Newt is not doing this to grease the skids for Santorum. He is doing this to win.

Rick will need to get his butt out there on his own. Just because some people are gushing over him does not mean everyone else in the race has become a proxy candidate for him.

Yes, Romney unwittingly showed the world his and the democrats’ plan for Obama’s victory. Parading John McCain out there shoulder to shoulder with Romney was an unbelievably pathetic site. Romney showed himself as the successor to McCain’s mantle of defeat.

It is going to take a bit more time, including Saturday’s televised debate, but I see a turn coming about. Let’s see what happens.

Newt has lost it.

Don't tell me you've got a problem with someone leveling both barrels at that corruptocrat, liberal slimebag, Romney. Newt is rightfully calling him out for being the unelectable Commie-Lite agent that he is.

McCain and Romney are two peas in a loser pod.

And both of them are worthless, lying snakes, unfit for any public office.
