Worth mentioning...
“DHS Creates Accounts Solely to Monitor Social Networks,” by Olivia Katrandjian for ABC News, December 28, 2011

Thanks to JW.
They be watchin’ HULU Fur Shur!
I am very upset. Where is Free Republic?
(or my site)
FR didn’t make it? I’m disappointed.
monitoring for what? drudge alone has 25m in a 24 hr period. what good is monitoring that going to be?
if they are looking for messages being passed by terrorists, seriously, there is no way to detect them if the terrorists have even a minimally functional frontal lobe
What tool(s) are hey using to capture data?
I’ve never even heard of the vast majority of these. What’s the rationale? Seems like they’re casting a wide net to avoid paying attention to the obvious.
Indeed, since FR has so many on those known (to DHS) domestic terrorist military veterans running around.........not to mention gun owners.
The communist Chinese have about 100,000 agents in Shanghai doing something like this regarding the internet in China. Another indication that Bush/Obamalini have been dragging us into fascism....
Don’t forget the midget porn sites! ... Oh wait the Securities and Exchange Commission lawyers are already all over those. Oh well, I feel soooo much safer now that big brother is watching my every mouse click. I do believe though that this is a great employment opportunity as currently the Red Chinese employ about 50,000 people to track their citizens web use I’m sure that the US will need to hire at least 30,000 people for a similar effort here in Amerika. Get your resume in early or you’ll be competing with TSA agents that have gotten bored of seeing grandma and the grand-kids naked in their scanners and are looking for a new thrill!
If O gets re-elected, I bet we make the list next year.
Whew.
This is one of the shovel ready jobs as promised.
They monitor AND filter. The chances of any one of us winding up on their “this one” page is an obscene number.
We have to try harder.
I suspect this is just a phase of implementation of the new law just signed making it perfectly acceptable to use the Constitution as toilet paper by arresting and indefinitely detaining (without trail) US Citizens who are deemed a “danger” or “potential terrorist”.
BTT
Oh, I'm sure very effective tools at wasting taxpayer money.
Newt recently compared the fraud rate of Medicare and US Immigration to that of American Express (a handful of basis points). I suspect, if you squared that ratio a couple of times, you'd approximate the ratio between Google and NOC.
Hopefully, 2013 will be meat cleaver time.
I highly recommend NOT clicking on any of those links!
Uh oh. They’re going to check facebook? They’re going to see me playing “words with friends” with several friends. Analyze the words I use, determine I’m educated, but not indoctrinated, and I’ll be on a list. Or maybe they’ll start monitoring my Pandora account, analyze my music tastes and determine I’m too independent, a bitter clinger, and start watching that...
If we’re not on the list, we’re not working hard enough.
Rebellion is brewing!!
