The potential for a third party presidential run from billionaire developer and reality TV star Donald Trump may be closer to becoming a reality show of its own.

The Blaze received a copy of a confidential email sent out late Thursday afternoon from a Florida Tea Party leader and personal friend of Trump. The email requested assistance in building a team in Texas to make certain that, if Trump chooses to run, his name would be on the ballot.

The email included:

Dear Patriot Leader,

I am a tea party leader in Florida and friend of Donald Trump. I am sure you have heard on the news that Mr. Trump is considering a run as an independent. He has asked me to find a “tea party” Texas Chairman for a potential third party by next week. The role requires a Texas voter registration and is due to the voting laws in Texas. The person would not have to change their party affiliation or anything. Would you or do you know of any Texan that would be interested?

The Blaze has spoken with the author of the letter and confirmed its authenticity.

Some restrictive election laws that make it difficult for non-traditional political hopefuls (those outside of the Republican and Democratic parties) to get on the ballot in Texas are cited as the cause of this request. This early work, needed to assure that a candidate is on the ballot in Texas,

“What if someone ran to the left of Obama ? “

Bernie Sanders could make it. If Obama won on cryptocommunism, open communism from Sanders might work.

“What if someone ran to the left of Obama”

They won`t. They`re far more united on the dark side.

Sure, Trump takes some Dem-leaning but more of those leaning Republican. (Our CONSERVATIVE nominee would be so screwed with him in it. The Donald be on Fox News seven days a week, too. For ratings alone.)

That damned S.O.B.

The only thing he will accomplish is to get Obama re-elected.

I’m even more teed off at the GOP than he is, but at least this time around, getting that Marxist Muslim out of the White House before he can destroy America is the primary goal.

THEN, LATER, yes, start a third party movement from the ground up, or support the Tea Party in taking over the GOP apparatus.

Please! What the Donald says, thinks, or does is irrelevant. How he became relevant to all this in the first place is in and of itself a mystery. He’s a plain imbecile and at best a useful idiot.

“Oh sure—get a third party in there to split the Republican vote, and reelect obammy..........”

IMHO he would be better than Obama or Mitt. With those two on the ballot as the Dem and the Rep, he would probably win.

Greta S in particular foolishly has him on her show. Just boot him to the curb. This “independent” bid by someone who has filed for bankruptcy several times is purely to keep him in the news. And the suckers fall for it.

Drill’s First Law of Headline Hyperbole - any headline that uses the phrase “gains momentum” or “picks up steam” is somebody’s wishful thinking.

“Trump going 3rd party dooms our nominee. Period.”

We don’t have a nominee and probably won’t. If it goes to Mitt, there are many - even here on FR that will vote 3rd party. Mitt seems to not get over 25% or so...

Many lefties regard BHO as a sell-out and wish for a “real” left-wing candidate.

Yes, Perot’s personal revenge against Bush, nothing to do with the good of the country, just him and his ego and other issues.

The tea party does not have “Leaders”.

There are an awful lot of people that claim they are, and the MSM has long lists of them to quote.

You are absolutely correct about Perot. He tried to get into GHWBush’s cabinet but he was rebuffed so he ran 3rd party and elected clinton. He duped a lot of people who thought he was serious, some right here on FR. Did you see Perot after clinton was called as the winner? Perot was over joyed!

Perot “felt the call of duty to re-enter the race” and ran as a vote-splitter for the GOP. Clinton won.

More than 19 million citizens voted for Perot because the weak, effete, Republican elite refused to address legitimate issues that Perot was addressing.

People can decide for themselves whether a similar situation exists today.

I thought the bad blood was because Bush as head of CIA vetoed one of Perot’s private “missions” to Vietnam.

Either way, HRP should be ashamed of himself.
