The potential for a third party presidential run from billionaire developer and reality TV star Donald Trump may be closer to becoming a reality show of its own.
The Blaze received a copy of a confidential email sent out late Thursday afternoon from a Florida Tea Party leader and personal friend of Trump. The email requested assistance in building a team in Texas to make certain that, if Trump chooses to run, his name would be on the ballot.
The email included:
Dear Patriot Leader,
I am a tea party leader in Florida and friend of Donald Trump. I am sure you have heard on the news that Mr. Trump is considering a run as an independent. He has asked me to find a “tea party” Texas Chairman for a potential third party by next week. The role requires a Texas voter registration and is due to the voting laws in Texas. The person would not have to change their party affiliation or anything. Would you or do you know of any Texan that would be interested?
The Blaze has spoken with the author of the letter and confirmed its authenticity.
Some restrictive election laws that make it difficult for non-traditional political hopefuls (those outside of the Republican and Democratic parties) to get on the ballot in Texas are cited as the cause of this request. This early work, needed to assure that a candidate is on the ballot in Texas,

Looks like Trump has lost it. I know he has lost a ton of money since 2006, and that he was taking that lose hard, but I didn’t think he was ready to commit financial suicide.
This third party race thing is going to take a ton of time and financial resources, most of which will be his.
The time he takes to run is time he will not be looking after his businesses.
What if someone ran to the left of Obama?
I would not even be for someone running left of Obama, say an Ralph Nader type. It is far too easy for the media to game the election cycle as it is. I would not like to see this become a habitual gaming of the election process type of thing.
Obama has a horrible record of consistently going against American business interests almost 100 per cent of the time. He can and should be beat based upon his record of how he has performed.
Trump doesn`t give two sh*ts about what`s good for America.. he cares only about two things: 1) Securing a financial deal for himself; and 2) Self- glorification. Nothing else matters.
In this chess game that’s a Ross Perot move. Remember, Perot started to run, then when Clinton was doing well, withdrew. Later when things looked iffy for BJ, Perot “felt the call of duty to re-enter the race” and ran as a vote-splitter for the GOP. Clinton won.
Trump pulled off the “Obama’s BC is real” scam then disappeared, now is considering running again.
I don’t trust this showman.
