'Momentum's Name Is Rick Santorum'
The American Spectator ^ | December 31, 3011 | W. James Antle III

The last Des Moines Register poll before Tuesday's Iowa caucuses was just released. Conducted from Tuesday to Friday, Mitt Romney leads with 24 percent, followed by Ron Paul at 22 percent, and Rick Santorum at 15 percent. Newt Gingrich is at 12 percent, Rick Perry 11 percent, and Michele Bachmann at 7 percent.

Consider the last two days of polling separately, however, and it's Romney at 24 percent, Santorum at 21 percent, and Paul in third at 18 percent. "Momentum's name is Rick Santorum," said Register pollster J. Ann Selzer. That said, looking at only the last two days raises the margin of error from plus or minus 4 percent to plus or minus 5.6 percent. Fully 41 percent of likely caucus-goers say they could still be persuaded to change their minds.

Santorum is in second place and climbing. He might actually win this thing!

This is not good news. All this means is your nominee will be Romney. We keep making the same mistakes. To bad, looks like President Obama has four more years.

Santorum is a good candidate, he has a good record of beating liberals over the years here in Pittsburgh as well as statewide.

I can see him victorious next fall.

Rick S. will not be the nominee. Only three can pull off a national race: Newt, Perry and Romney. Pick one if you want to win. Newt is the one than can be Obama, if that is your goal. If you just want to feel good about supporting a conservative then vote for Rick S. and feel good. For about a month.

You mean third, correct? He seems to be taking away from Newt and Bachmann.

Something tells me they are over blowing the surge.

Yeah, Santorum will help ensure Romney’s nomination. Santorum knows he doesn’t have the infrastructure to successfully wage and win the primaries, so instead he’ll run interference as long as possible on the other candidates, in order to pimp for a VP spot on Romney’s ticket.

Yeah, I know. BUT ... I refuse to support yet another RINO. I know I’ll be voting Third Party or write in.

But, to finally change the meme and rid ourselves of the GOP elite, we need to nominate a Conservative, even if we go dwon in flames. It would be a lost battle on the way to a won war.

As I and many have said, I will never vote Romney or Gingrich.

In the four day version of the poll, others include:

Gingrich: 12 percent
Perry: 11 percent
Bachmann: 7 percent

I don’t know how they fared over the last two days.

If Bachmann drops out, Santorum will be in dead heat with Romney and Paul. Shame that the conservative vote is split.

“Consider the last two days of polling separately, however, and it’s Romney at 24 percent, Santorum at 21 percent”

Now is the time to unite and deny Romney the win. Go Santorum! Pro-life and faithful to wife!

No, I mean second. Over the final two days, the results are:

Romney: 24 percent

Santorum: 21 percent

Paul: 18 percent

Romney and other moneyed interests have clearly put out the word to puff Santorum and Paul.
