You should have dropped the dash and started a new sentence by capitalizing "had".

Now that we've gotten THAT ugliness out of the way....

I still like Michelle Bachmann - I know, "not a snowballs' chance...", but I vote for who I like in the primaries, and who I must in the general (line stolen from another Freeper).
Among the leaders, I like Newt, although with Santorum gettting legs he's the closest to Bachmann in policy (social and fiscal).
