ABC's Jonathan Karl Tuesday published a piece now prominently featured at the Drudge Report with a headline guaranteed to be the Obama-loving media's lead story concerning something Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich wrote over five years ago: "Gingrich 06 Memo: 'Agree Entirely With Gov. Romney' on Health Care."
Inside the actual document uncovered by BuzzFeeds Andrew Kaczynski, the former Speaker didn't "agree entirely with Gov. Romney" at all (emphasis added):

The only difference between Romney and Gingrich is 100 pounds of excess fat.
“The LSM DNC propaganda machine rolls on”
They want Willard versus Barack so bad they can taste it! And clueless brainiac haters of Newt are falling for their LIBERAL scam.
We should keep a list and the next time one of them claims the LSM is wrong, we remind them how valuable the LSM information was to them regarding Gingrich
I just want Obama gone.
And don't bother telling me how there's no difference.
Gingrich has talked about severley cutting back programs before
I think that is why the libtards hate him so much
Then who did?
Calling the architect of the Republican Revolution a RINO is, well, odd. I do worry that he has some liberal tendencies, but calling him a RINO is like calling Patton a Nazi or a commie.
Never went there with Ron, won’t go there with Newt.
:)
Just reporting the facts.
tsk...tsk!
You are being too logical. ;)
Of that there is no doubt. And an even larger plurality than 2008 - one that McCain would have had without Palin to drag conservatives to the polls with noses clenched.
The shill subbing for Limbaugh today did too.
“IF he can get the nomination, he will build momentum and win.”
Your six points in favor of Newt are persuasive.
Romney will not attract attention to the election. It will be The black guy against the boring rich guy.
Newt will stir up interest by drawing a stark contrast between liberal and conservative philosophy of governance. When Obama tries to pull his “I cut taxes and am for a leaner government” lies, Newt will pounce. It will be grand entertainment, which always looks great on television. Everyone will want to watch. Newt will educate the “middle of the road” electorate.
It could be 1980 all over again.
“Just heard on FOX Newt didnt write this!
HE DID NOT WRITE THIS!”
Anyone have a link to the claim that Newt didn’t say this?
R.C. Hammond, a spokesman for Gingrich, said the April 2006 essay shouldn’t be read as an endorsement of Romney’s health plan. He noted that it raised several questions about the Massachusetts effort, including whether the plan would work in the state. “Being critical isn’t endorsing it,” he said.
Hammond said the Newt Notes essay wasn’t written by Gingrich himself. The Journal was able to view a copy using a web search engine that archives old and even deleted versions of web pages.
It is at the end of the article.
“I said the same thing about McCain—even put up a thread on why he was unqualified to be the GOP nominee. Then he picked a conservative VP candidate and I and a lot of other FReepers went and voted for him.”
The chances of Myth getting a “Sarah Palin” type VP is next to nothing. Besides, even McCain had “some” redeeming points. I cannot think of any for Romney. Plus, I think many secretly hoped that McCain would die and leave Palin as POTUS.
The narrative will be: Rich Mitt who owns at least four multi million dollar homes and made his millions on the dreaded Wall Street through leveraged buyouts AGAINST the first black president who champions the cause of the oppressed and middle class.
Romney will be unable to foster the kind of stark contrasts that only Newt can provide during the campaign.
Obama ad: Do you want a President who owns four Mansions? Please support the first black President in his bid to fix the mess that rich Republicans like Romney got us into!
Will Romney and Gingrich both repeal Obamacare? Yes. So why has this issue about what they thought a few years ago really matter? All I care about is what the candidate will do NOW about today’s problems. We waste our time on listening to negative ads too. Where do they stand now? Who has the best chance of getting effective legislation through? That’s all that should matter.
