Bethlehem was Joseph’s birth place. He would be considered a natural born citizen of Bethlehem under our laws.

Mary was betrothed to Joseph and would have been under his authority-essentially his property. She would not be an illegal alien so long as she was betrothed to her husband.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem and would have been treated as a natural born citizen under our laws. Also, as God’s son Jesus was granted all authority in heaven and on earth and by definition cannot be an illegal alien anywhere on earth.

the message of the Inn is not illegal aliens. It is about the condition of our hearts. There was no room for Jesus then and there still remains little room for Jesus today. He is not welcome in many hearts. He is not welcome as an authority in many lands. He is not held close as we go about our daily lives.
