Mary and Joseph were ordered by Caesar Augustus to go to Bethlehem for a census and to be taxed. Jesus wasn't an illegal - he was being audited.

Leftist BULL$HIT!!

Here's what Jesus did say about illegal aliens:

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber."

John 10:1

Based on this excerpt, it looks like the lefties are simply continuing their consistent policy of refusing to acknowledge the difference between legal and illegal immigrants.

I might go for a reference to Mexican illegals as being compared to the despised Samaritans since there is the theme of hostility hostility between neighbors, but the comparison of the family of Jesus as illegals is a poorly thought out theme that falls apart.

From the Gospel According to Luke (KJV):

2:1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

2:2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

2:3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

2:5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

Not only were they not illegal immigrants, they were taxpayers traveling to the husband's ancestral home to be counted pursuant to an imperial decree.

The continuing tirade of “everything you know is wrong” coming from the left. So they can supplant it with their own religion (i.e., statism).

Bethlehem was Joseph’s birth place. He would be considered a natural born citizen of Bethlehem under our laws.

Mary was betrothed to Joseph and would have been under his authority-essentially his property. She would not be an illegal alien so long as she was betrothed to her husband.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem and would have been treated as a natural born citizen under our laws. Also, as God’s son Jesus was granted all authority in heaven and on earth and by definition cannot be an illegal alien anywhere on earth.

the message of the Inn is not illegal aliens. It is about the condition of our hearts. There was no room for Jesus then and there still remains little room for Jesus today. He is not welcome in many hearts. He is not welcome as an authority in many lands. He is not held close as we go about our daily lives. We do not make time to give Him credit for his saving grace or all the physical and spiritual gifts he provides.

His illegal alien status remains with the world that denies him. But that world is only here for a short time.

I have noted that some of the church leaders want to foist onto the state the commission that Jesus gave the church to care for the poor and downtrodden.

These "leaders" evidently never read "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and unto God..."

Like so many others, these church fathers want the gubmint to do its job.

Well baby Jesus was ‘Hey-soos’, Joseph was ‘Jose’ and Mary was ‘Maria’. I guess the 3 Wise Men were Democrat politicians giving gifts and pandering for votes. Mean old Herod was like a Sheriff Joe Arpaio then.... it all makes sense when you lower the IQ to the level of a leftist liberal lunatic analogy maker....
