Very true.

And skills will get you in to a survival community a lot faster than goods. Doctors/surgeons won’t have much problem.

Can you post the instructions for making bread from scratch? I started researching it but never actually tried it. Did you use a piece of fermented fruit to make it rise?

As a culinary professional... I'd say you need a face-to-face, hands-on training to learn that skill.

And you use yeast from the trub left over from brewing beer to make the bread rise.

Some skills need real training, or lots of trial and error.

You really don’t need yeast....you can make your own sourdough starter....I just got an “Urban Farmer” magazine that has a great article about it, and it looks easy.

The fruit doesn’t have to be fermented. There is yeast in the air, or you can use fresh grapes, apples, or any berry that has a “bloom” on the skin such as blueberries. All of those will have yeast colonies on the skin. Assuming you didn’t have yeast in the house to start with.
